  • Maybe the CEO is a native Japanese and wants to go for that cutesy bad English grammar thing they've got going.

  • Funny how I just posted my gripe with PP on another thread and now this "announcement". Not to sound elitist, but the unfortunate thing with this program is that it lost all exclusivity with giving membership right and left on so many cards.

I had it early on from CSR and 5-6 years ago it was the best thing ever. It was taken almost everywhere and made you feel like a VIP by flashing the card. Now so many places refuse it and in those that take it, you get that "not this again" look.

It is still useful internationally but, for domestic flights, slim pickings in all major hubs.

Not sure if they can come back from this without major structural changes in pricing to attract more partners back

    • If you're griping about this only now, you've been out of the loop for years.

Priority Pass was never exclusive to begin with, and the lounge concept in the US has been destroyed by premium credit cards which are also not exclusive.

    • Priority Pass is borderline worthless in the USA outside of big hubs.

The PP you should be looking for in a cc is Plaza Premium.

  • I have the PenFed card that gives a priority pass membership that gives me the "privilege" of being able to pay $50 to access one of these facilities, and.... it actually seems worse than just not having anything at all. Just an incredibly weird value proposition overall.

  • I visited the one at LAX, they had a whole menu of massage services... but turns out with Priority Pass, you only get to sit in their automated massage chairs. Not worth it even for free.

    • Tbh that massage chair was amazing and they definitely let me stay a lot longer than the time I was supposed to have. Better in there than at the gate, that's for sure.

  • PP's idea to add restaurants was great solution for airports where there is no lounge but these relax room things are mostly useless. I used the minute suites in CLT but I would be hard pressed to allot more than $5 value to it if I was to pay cash

  • DTW has also added Anita's Kitchen as a PP Restaurant in North Terminal, which is a very cool upgrade as the Lufthansa lounge is pretty scaled down these days and doesn't offer hot food of any kind.
