    • They must have. It worked for me with no problems on the first account I added it to, but had not yet clipped the coupon on my other accounts and it does not appear for those anymore.

      • Ditto. Got the promo last week and noted the late Oct. exp. date.

But, today while at the store using another account, it was a no go. Checked again on PC at home and no trace.

  • Thanks for the news & data points. Never shopped at a Publix before, but will soon be visiting a town (Richmond, VA area) with several. (recently converted Martin's) From reading previous threads, I get the impression that some Publix stores may carry variable load MCGC? (Is that accurate, or is more likely limited to the $200 fixed?) Also, when the indication is, “One offer per transaction,” does this mean that you can do more than one purchase per account — or does the coupon work just once?

    • This is a DIGITAL COUPON which must be added to a Public loyalty account. Then at the end of the transaction you enter your Publix loyalty account's credential (the telephone number associated with it). It is ONE coupon per account.
It is not like you can walk in and buy with a discount.

Whether variable or fixed does not matter because Publix only carries cards up to $200.

    • Most of the MCGC I've seen at Publix are $200 Variable. Coupon only works once per account, though it's pretty easy to get multiple accounts...

  • I just had a similar problem with a Shell GC bought from Publix. It got drained and "invalidated" (issuer terminology) 3 days after the purchase date. Publix agreed to replace it with a new one. There's no option to register those, and I'm rather nervous about holding it for a long time or even reselling.

    • Do you mind to tell which town you are located? I have heard Shell GC is very prone to fraud, but mostly in California. Haven't heard that also infected Florida.
Publix used to only have Shell in my area but now it has several other brands, incl the wawa that is new kid in the town. Wawa GC can be registered on their site once you join their reward program.

  • Two things I do with these, one is I only buy enough to cover bills that support prepaying, cable, electric, gas, ect. I register and drain these all within 2-3 hours of purchase.

The second thing, I try to do the first thing even faster if I can, I always hear people having problems with these. Btw, you can register these over the phone where they send you a link to input your information. Even with Visa’s, I seem to have errors when I go straight to the website to register, and the phone link is a lot faster for me.

These are great ways to earn 4X MR with the Gold Card on otherwise 1X bills.

  • Does it count toward spending requirements with Amex? Do they get detailed purchase info from Publix? Thx.

  • I guess these are starting to go on sale basically continuously at this point. Last sale ended on Oct 6 and lasted two whole weeks. I certainly welcome this change!

        • Same here. I do believe the cashiers not familiar with digital coupons often mess things up, like if a total key is pressed the digital coupon would not go thru or something like that. I had 2 occasions the cashiers had to do it all over, and have to get a new card.

I now ALWAYS tell the cashier I have digital coupon before she starts and also after she finishes ringing up. Not have any more issue since using this practice.

        • I had them preloaded but the register wasn't taking them off... I had to go to Customer Service each time and show them the coupon and they would manually take 10 off.. I stopped on my second one since it was too much of a hassle

          • Cashier error. They have to wait for you to enter the phone number associated to the digital coupon before closing the transaction but cashiers tend to immediately close the transaction once all items are rung up. You have to tell the cashier BEFORE she finishes that you have digital coupon to prevent the situation you experienced. I had that happened but I would not pay until cashier fixed it - it meant a new card is needed, But that is her fault to close the transaction too quick.

  • As an FYI, I’ve bought the Publix MasterCard deals and I’m currently going thru an instance of unauthorized charge where someone else has registered their name to the card and Blackhawk Network, which is servicing these cards, is leaning more toward whoever registered the card versus the actual cardholder. Since I only intended B&M use and not online, I hadn’t registered the card, leaving the option for a stranger to hijack the card and steal two-thirds of the funds. I don’t know how this happened since I live alone, the card’s information was kept close to me, and I only used it at three national chain markets.

Lesson learned: Immediately register the card to your name.

    • I thought these cards are issued by US Bank? I dont think they are handled by BlackHawks. VGCs are.

Always register MCGC right away, and try not to sit on them any longer than necessary.
