The Fine Print

  • Earn Cash Back when you shop with your linked card at all participating Food Lion stores. Debit card purchases must be processed as credit to be eligible for Cash Back. When using your debit card, do not enter your PIN. Only US-issued payment cards are eligible to enroll and earn Cash Back. Offer not valid for gift card purchases. In-Store offers not valid for online purchases and may not be combined with other Rakuten rewards. US stores only. Offer not valid at locations in US territories. Offer may be displayed on multiple websites but is redeemable only once per qualifying transaction. If you link to the same offer on more than one site, your qualifying transaction will only be eligible for rewards or benefits associated with the offer through the most recently linked site. A linked offer is good for 1 hour after initial redemption. After such time the offer must be re-linked prior to your next purchase. A linked offer that has not been redeemed will automatically expire 45 days after it is linked or on the date the offer itself ends, whichever is sooner.   • I'm planning to stack this 5% CVS offer with 5% Citi offer on my Custom Cash. They both exclude gift cards, but I'm going to try it anyway,

    • I did bunch of cvs gc's the past 3 weeks, in TC had no cap on CB. Racked up 200k in MR's... rakuten clawed back every single point day by day. every purchase w different candy. 2,5% and 5% cap was working before.

      • Does "MR" stand for Membership Rewards? If so, what would that have to do with Rakuten?

        How long after your purchases did Rakuten claw it back?

        The issue is that you probably took the expression "go big or go home" too far. 😉

    • Gerald, just buy a candy bar or cheap pack of nuts that hang on a small display in front of the store for 1.19 or 1.79. Hopefully it will not set off alarms at Rakuten for 505.95. I'm trying that on Tues. I've done it before at CVS and it tracked on Rak.

      I added the Rakuten offer for S&S offer earlier this morning when I alerted @6 about this. Later on, I made a small purchase (not a gc) in S&S and it DID NOT track. I used an Amex credit card.

      When this offer was around last time, I purchased a gc using my Amex credit card and a non-Amex card. Only the non-Amex card tracked.

      I am just curious if something is wrong with my Amex link or if Amex just doesn't work properly for Rakuten. Any idea?

        • all I know is I added a Chase Freedom (3% at drug stores) and an OBC from Amex (5% on G/G/D)on Mon. Used them both for separate xactions at CVS on Tues. Bought a cheap item with each trans. No tracking yet. probably won't works. Had no trouble adding the cards tho.

    • It has taken longer to add the offers for me but it hasn't been longer than 1-2 minutes of loading.

  • Food Lion (yesterday) and now CVS (today) are no longer showing for in-store. Is that happening for anyone else?

  • I used the S&S offer today and received the normal email from Rakuten that it tracked but I then went to re-add the offer and it's gone. Do any of you still show it available?

    Bought a $500 VVGC at FL and stacked this Rakuten 1% + CF 5% grocery cat + Chase Food Lion Offer for 7% ($5.50 max). About $30 cashback after fees.
