[Expired] RebatesMe Shopping Portal: $30 Sign Up Bonus & $30 Referrals

Update: Both the person signing up and being referred get $30 now.

The Offer

Direct link to offer (my referral link)

  • Shopping portal Rebatesme is offering a bonus of $30 when you sign up for a new account using a referral link (Members must make qualifying purchases earning cash back totaling above $10 within 365 days of join date). The person who refers you will also receive $30

The Fine Print

  • To cash out you need $20

Our Verdict

RebatesMe often has competitive rates, it currently has double or more cash back at some stores. I’d always recommend using something like cashbackmonitor to ensure you’re getting the best rates though. Rebatesme did pay out on the Motley Fool promotion, where as other portals still haven’t paid this deal out so that’s a big plus in my book (no longer available). There is a $20 cash out minimum so you’d need to earn another $5 to be able to cash out (also need to earn $10+ to get the referral bonus). You also get increased cash back on your first order (e.g Macy’s is showing at 14% for me)Appreciate anybody who supports the site by using my link here. Please do not share your referrals in the comments.

Update 11/19/20: Deal is back, person signing up still gets $15. Person referring now gets $30. Thanks to those who use my links.

What’s the easiest / quickest way to get “$10 in cashback” to unlock the $30 bonus? I don’t want to use this as my cashback site just want the $30.

It looks like you have to use the site for your cash back until you reach the $10 in cash back to unlock. I used the 12% Chewy one for a $100 order, hopefully it’ll work well.

What’s the easiest way to cash this money out? I still have the $30 pending but need to know how I can cash out? I got an e-mail today saying I’ll lose the $30 if I don’t withdraw it soon.. but can’t withdraw it until I guess meet some minimum?

Seems this is a vestige of the previous offer

Just got an email and text message that RebatesMe is closing in September and that we should withdraw our money now. But I checked and they still have the minimum withdrawal requirement in effect.

And now a follow-up email saying the first was a phishing attack.

William, will you consider adding a referrals page for RebatesMe? I understand that you want this particular page reserved for your referral link, but it would be nice to have a referrals page for us.

Also, I commented here on 3/31 informing you when it increased from $5 to $30 so a “hat tip” would’ve been appreciated (just sayin’).

Either way, props for your hard work!

Just wanted to tell my experience. I signed up last night, placed order minutes later for $89.99.
This morning I had cashback pending for that purchase and $30 available.
However I can’t cash out yet.
Looking at the FAQs, it mentions for the new customer first cashback is immediately available to cashout and no minimum. My cashback is $10+ yet pending so not sure what to make of it. Estimated available date is July 1.
They do have much higher cashback compared to others which makes sense as they want customers. I’ll use them for now until they join the lower cashback club like others.
My toolbar has 5 cashback extensions now, ugh. That only seems to be an easy way to compare who has better rate.
I just hope cashbacks are available sooner. That’s what I like about Rakuten then it immediately tells I’m getting cashback which others don’t offer.
Anyway, just posting my referral link here too since others are posting.

The “pending” status is pretty standard with cashback sites. They do this to ensure that you don’t cancel/return the order you placed after they’ve rewarded you the cashback. I’m not sure why there’s the discrepancy in their terms with regards to the “first cashback is immediately available”. Thinking maybe it was something they had back when they only offered $5 bonus when you made your first purchase? Or, maybe they’ll make the cashback you get from the site you shopped at immediately available and make you wait for the signup bonus.

As for your cashback extensions…. my advice would be to remove them unless you utilize them… I’ve trained myself to google “[store] cashback” anytime I’m about to buy something online, and look for cashbackmonitor or cashbackholic in the results. Both of those sites are great in telling you which cashback site has the best rates on any given day.

William Charles , Do you know if Motley Fool still works? i.e. if I use Amex card can I get cashback from RebatesMe as well as from Amex? Thanks.

It didn’t work for me. I completed the offer back in January – IIRC – and never got the bonus. I opened two tickets with them… the first one resulted in “successful” but “canceled”, and the second one I opened 4 weeks ago says “Store Processing” so we’ll see, but I’m not expecting it to come through at this point.
