So Airbnb now can show fees, but they do not include taxes on their pages until you click to the next page. So it's still hard to compare to hotels.
They've increased their service fees also :( All the properties that I have been checking out have greatly increased in price.
Hilarious, the developer of wanderlog Southwest's extension gave his own product 5 star review
About time Airbnb uses transparent pricing. I can put the calculator away now.
As an Airbnb host I think this is a great idea. I just hope it doesn't put too much negative spotlight on the hosts that are charging the fees.
I can easily justify charging a $300 to $500+ fee. I have a good size property and turn over is a real pain. I ditched the cleaning fee and made the minimum reservation at least a month. I was hoping that people would leave things in a little better order by not having a cleaning fee but that was foolish thinking.
I may bring back the cleaning fee and shorten the minimum reservation.
as a customer I've definitely found it annoying when the lowest price per night isn't actually the lowest reservation price available.
The point is to put a negative spotlight on too many fees. The price breakdown is not relevant total cost over number of nights is what the consumer factors when comparing multiple listings on AirBNB or between airbnb and a hotel.
Installed the Wanderlog extension. It says Price Unavailable for Southwest. Was this already nixt?
I had the same result when installing this - still just says "price unavailable".
You could have done this already with the Airbnb Australia website then changing the currency to USD. But more convenient if it's available everywhere.
Airbnb should have fucking been doing this from the beginning. I can't believe they've gotten away with not showing the real cost for this long.
