- Absurd: Egypt Threatens Me For Criticizing Cairo Airport by OMaaT. Don’t think Egypt are beating the allegations that it’s a disaster to visit at the moment.
- Spirit Airlines files for bankruptcy as financial losses pile up and debt payments loom.
- it appears United MileagePlus has devalued domestic Intra-Japan flights booked through partners (i.e ANA). I’m now seeing 7000 miles each way in economy. Before it was set at 5000 miles.

These guys hold grudges like a mf and have been spun up in "social media defense mode" since the Arab spring. Ol dudes phone is definitely harboring some spy apps. I'd never set foot in that country again... Homemade baba ganoush from now on.
Well, that's a read. I've been through CAI maybe 5-6 times. I remember reading a story from not too long back of a vlogger bringing in a couple cameras and some equipment, they were trying to accuse him of a lot of things, like being a hired journalist intent on their downfall or something. I don't remember the exact story.
Not quite north korea, but I keep my head down when I pass through and careful of what I pack. I wouldn't expect a response like this to essentially an airport review though.
There's a very popular food review YouTube channel named 'Best Ever Food Review Show'. The host has seemingly travelled to nearly all corners of the world and is very rarely critical of any country/culture, but has made a video dedicated with his nightmare experience when travelling to Cairo, Egypt. Even though his camera equipment was confiscated and held for 2 days upon arrival, he was able to sneak some footage from his phone to show some of what he had to go through.
Video is named 'Egypt Travel Nightmare!! Why I’ll Never Go Back!!' on the YouTube channel 'More Best Ever Food Review Show'.
I have a friend who is visiting Egypt right now and is having a great time. While I can't support any gov't representative threatening a blogger, there's no need to suggest that Egypt is a "disaster to visit at the moment" because of it.
All other moments, but at this moment, too.
Nice try, Mr el-Fattah el-Sisi
I'm not stating that just because of that article. Glad you're friend is enjoying their trip, that certainly isn't an experience that is widely shared at the moment unfortunately.
It is not a disaster “at the moment”. It is a generally corrupted and oppressive government.
Bummer, I was looking forward to an Egypt trip /s
It is clear the Egyptian government has never heard of the Striesand effect...
damn, domestic travel within japan was a really good deal with united+ana. still cheaper than using ana miles but not as good a deal than before.
It’s worse than reported too as they now add more miles if you have multiple connections like OKA-HND-CTS-WKJ.
seriously.. this sucks
That makes no sense.
Why would they want to intentionally publicize a bad review of their airport?
Ben can come across a bit self-centered at times, but I think he's largely honest, fair, and decent. He's reliable in a world that often isn't.
He could stand to get schlapped a bit more.
"No such thing as bad publicity." Many Americans couldn't tell you what or where Cairo is; maybe this will make them curious.
