I personally am not a fan of "inflation" fees or "covid" fees, FedEx/UPS's fuel surcharges, or similar. They remind me a lot of the hotel resort fees - essentially a price increase. Just increase your prices, do not try to hide the ball or blame someone else.
I wonder how a "shareholder profit" surcharge would go over instead.
AWS is Amazon main profit center, but Amazon is going to squeeze wherever they can - they are a defacto monopoly .
