Update 4/8/25: Looks to be paused or discontinued now
Update 4/2/25: another rumor notes that the Rewards+ and Student Rewards+ will be paused for new applications on April 8 for both online and in-branch.
Original Post 3/15/25:
A report on r/creditcards states that the Citi Rewards+ card will be no longer be available for application in a few days. They also indicate that the card will be discontinued for good. The card launched back in 2019.
A lot of people hold this card in order to get the benefit of 10% rebate on their first 100,000 redeemed Thank You points (10,000 points bonus), even points earned on other cards.
Assuming the card is getting discontinued, we can hope that existing cardholders will be able to keep the card as-is for many months or year until they eventually completely sunset the product.
The Citi Rewards+ card is still available for signup at the time of this writing. It comes with a signup bonus of 20,000 Thank You points after spending $1,500 within 3 months.

I checked my account today and this card was closed, without warning.
Have you not been using it? I use mine regularly on purchases under $1.50 since the 10c I get back is better than my BCP at 6%. I just checked and mine is still open.
Was your Rewards+ card linked to other TYP cards in terms of TYP points, or not?
And when was the last time you used it? I last used mine in late November.
Mine was linked, and it's still open.
Since you didn't explain those two things, I'm wondering if they're just closing dormant cards and/or cards that aren't linked to other TYP accounts (for the 10% back on redemptions)?
I know Citi has at least once closed dormant cards for me without warning.
Probably becoming Citi Strata Select
We cooked Fam
I've had my Rewards+ card for about a year. Still carrying a 0% APR balance until June. (Don't worry, I will pay in full before the offer expires.) If they decide to eliminate the Rewards+ card or remove the 10% TYP bonus, I'll PC to a second Custom Cash card.
With a second Custom Cash card, I may downgrade my AmEx Blue Cash Preferred to a Blue Cash Everyday. I have other cards that pay 3% on gas and, I think, 3% on streaming.
I tried to product change a Double Cash to it yesterday, and initially the CSR told me she was happy to do it for me, but a few minutes later told me that it wasn't possible. I should have thought of PC-ing sooner.
That's odd. They've been trying to get me to take a free (for one year) upgrade to the Premier card for a while now. Maybe because it's discontinued?
I did it last week.
Wonder if you can still PC to it
I tried yesterday, but it didn't work. Should have thought of PC-ing to it sooner...
Thats a shame. Last citi card with a 2yr extended warranty. Now the best is the DC which will double your warranty up to 2 years.
Don't understand why people said the best benefit was the TY points for small purchases. They were missing the warranty benefit.
Strata Premier and Diamond Preferred still add 24 months.
Never understood the warranty benefit. Do you seriously value it more than much higher straight cash back? What have you used it for recently?
Stuff like laptops I would love to have a free extra 2 years of warranty on, the price to add on one at checkout is a lot more than the 2-3% extra you can get back with a different card.
Is the Rewards+ the same thing as what used to be known as the Citi Thank You Preferred?
Rewards+ earns a minimum of 10 points on the smallest purchases, and earns you 10% back on points redemptions.
Did the Citi Thank You Preferred have those two features?
If not, it can't be the same thing.
I slid in with an approval at 1152pm last night. Just in the knick of time it seems!
Anyone got a zombie link?
Lmao why would you wait until now to apply
