Update 6/27/22: The official press release came out today. Again, the card will not be available until July 13th.
Update 6/2/22: Another Reddit poster adds details of signup bonus and more, updated below with the new info in bold. Much of the detail is showing on the Wells Fargo site at this link as well.
Original Post:
According to this reddit thread (started by claimed Wells Fargo employee) Wells Fargo will launch the Wells Fargo Autograph card on July 13, 2022. The Autograph card is basically the Wells Fargo Propel card but running on the Visa payment network rather than American Express. For reference the Propel card had the following features:
- Welcome bonus 30,000 points on $1,500 in first 3 months (worth $300)
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 3x on dining, transit, travel, and streaming services, gas, phone plans
- 1x everywhere else.
- Redemption details:
- Rewards can be redeemed in $25 increments for 2,500 points. Or get in $20 increments for 2,000 points at the Wells Fargo ATM.
- Minimum of 100 Rewards Points or $1 in Cash Rewards in your Rewards Account is required.
- Redeem for Purchases is another option.
- Automatica redemptions can be set up in $25 increments.
- Points do not expire while this Credit Card account is open.
- No annual fee.
- No foreign transaction fees.
- Visa Signature benefits.

@will Propel is officially going away. Received a letter from WF today stating that "we are transitioning customers to the Wells Fargo Autograph Visa card on 05/24/2023". The letter states the old card will be deactivated on 08/04/2023. Rewards points will be transferred and there is no credit check.
Seems pretty clear that existing Propel and other non-Visa cards won't be able to PC to Autograph Visa tomorrow
It is interesting that "Points do not expire while this Credit Card account is open." Previously points expire after 5 years. Does opening this account prevent the existing points from expiring?
Another question, can the points earned from this card be redeemed for flights?
They've completed gutted the benefits from all Propel cards, including the Propel 365 and Propel World. Yeah they nixed the annual fee for both, but the Propel World actually had a great suite of benefits that are now gone. I'm really fucking tired of all these issuers nuking benefits that were actually useful.
Propel World is losing:
Premium Concierge
Worldwide Travel Accident Insurance
Roadside Assistance Tier 1
Worldwide Travel Inconvenience Insurance: Automatic Common Carrier Baggage, Trip Delay, and Baggage Delay Insurance
Worldwide Financial Services Common Carrier Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption
Return Protection
Retail Protection and Extended Warranty
Plus they're dropping domestic Auto Insurance Coverage from Primary to Secondary.
The Propel World was actually a great travel card that's now completely fucked outside of the point earning categories, relationship bonus, and $100 travel credit. I can't blame WF since Citi, Discover, Capital One, and more are all fucking us over together with this shit.
Unlike the Propel Amex card this replaces, the Autograph does not have extended warranty or return protection according to the benefits page on Wells Fargo's website. It does still have phone protection though.
Those are being removed on the Propel - https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/comments/vmccff/wells_fargo_removing_travel_benefits_from_propel/
If they allow transfer to Visa Signature, the SUB is worth $450 in travel for a mere $1500 in spend. Not too shabby.
Who is Mary Wells? WF always uses Henry Wells on their sample cards.
On a more serious note will this get 3x on Costco Gas?
Yes, it should. Costco gas stations have shown up as "gas" on my other Visa cards.
Am I missing something here? I thought 3x on transit, travel, and gas is pretty solid for a travel card with no AF and no foreign transaction fees. It is good for using when outside of the U.S. and when there is no quarterly bonus reward from Chase Freedom and Discover on gas.
Typical card only good for SUB then SD (and -$24 AF).
Will be nice if they somehow can get transfer partners or atleast something that makes the points potential to be >1cpp
