Our Verdict

This is a nice stack along with the Amex Platinum $50 credit. If you go to a Saks store, you should be able to split the $150 purchase between two or three Platinum cards to get it all free. For online purchases, go through a shopping portal for some nice rewards rates.

Personally, I find it just ends up being a waste of time to find something of value, and so I’d just use up the Amex credit on a $50 item and be done with it. But for someone who appreciates designer items, this $75 sweetener and high portal rates can be a nice stack with the $50 Platinum credit.

  • Don't be like me and forget to apply the promo code and the order can't be cancelled and the item is final sale

  • I made a purchase today and received the promotional gift card same day and it only showed the expiration date as 12/24. I went ahead and made another purchase and was able to use the $75 gift card today and take advantage of Rakuten 16% back. Sucks that we can't save the gift card for the Saks credit in 2025 but still nice to use the higher cash back plus great if you have a household with two Amex platinums.

  • I am just stacking Saks GC right now using Platinum credits. Fortunately have a store near me. Once it reaches a sizable amount I am planning to order something nice. Other option is to use the gift card is Saks off fifth.

  • Be careful. Fine print says the gc is only valid from 12/15-12/24. Any inventory remaining is likely garbage/gone.

  • They're going out of business soon I imagine, the amount of stuff on their website keeps disappearing. Writing is on the wall.
