[Expired] Sam’s Club $8 Membership In-Club; $40 Dosh Cashback Promotion

Deal has ended, view more Sam’s Club deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Two separate Sam’s Club deals going on now, these might not stack:

  • Sam’s Club is offering their membership for just $8 (reg. $45) in-club. Valid June 17 – 26. New members only. Press Release
  • Separately, the Dosh app is offering an increased cashback rate of $40 cashback when you buy a new membership and pay with a Dosh-connected card. Valid through June 19, 2022.

Our Verdict

Seems like you just go in-club to get the $8 price. I don’t see any terms on Dosh about how much the membership needs to cost, though I suspect the $8 price point will not trigger the $40 Dosh cashback. Let us know if you try as that would be a sweet moneymaker were it to work.

There’s also a Chase Offer that some people are seeing to get $10 back with $45 membership charge. That should stack with the Dosh deal, but not with the $8 deal.

There are often stacking deals that get you Sam’s membership for free or even a moneymaker, see a list of sample (expired) deals in this post. Sometimes these deals can make the membership cost free or better than free, but some people might like the simplicity of the $8 deal.

If you are new to Dosh, you can signup with my referral code CHUCKS2 and get $1 bonus when you link a card. Wait 24 hours from time of linking card to time of making purchase.

  • My Sam's Club membership auto-renewed last week, and I got $35 cash back in my Dosh app.

  • how long does it take for cashback to appear on Dosh. Purchased the $8 membership yesterday but no cashback on Dosh yet.

  • It's worth noting that all of these sign-up offers (both portals and directly through Sam's Club) require a "new membership". Per Sam's terms, a "new member" is someone who hasn't had a membership for at least 6 months.

It's also worth noting that Sam's offers daily guest passes, where you don't need to be a member, but will be charged a 10% surcharge on your purchases.

A workable strategy is to use guest passes during the 6 months you aren't eligible as a new member, and then take advantage of one of these ubiquitous portal and/or Sam's offers when you're eligible again.

    • My workable strategy is to alternate between P1 and P2 with their free, or almost, free membership, each year. No dealing with daily passes or surcharges. Before there was a P2, I just alternated email/phone numbers each year.

      • That strategy has worked so far for me, too.
Year 1 - had my father join with the save $45 promo
Year 2 - did the same for my wife
Year 3 - did for myself
Year 4 - will try again for my wife
Must remember to cancel membership about one week before it is scheduled for auto-renewal on your c/c. Also, I never requested a second card for a spouse - always kept the accounts exclusively for the individual.

      • Yeah, I tried switching info (email, phone, mailing address & credit card) but they were still able to find me out (IP address??) as they notified me that my account was revoked for violating their terms of service.
