This deal has expired, click here to sign up for notifications to never miss out on another deal again.

The Offer

  • Shoprite will offer a $10 shopping coupon with $50 gift cards purchase starting Sunday, November 12.

Offer is only for ‘select gift cards’. Gift cards shown are: Lowe’s, Home Depot, Macy’s, Nordstrom, and BedBath&Beyond. Maybe some other gift cards will be eligible too.

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid 11/12/17 – 11/18/17
  • $10 coupon will be valid between 11/19/17 – 11/25/17
  • Limit one per customer
  • Update: There might be a requirement to purchase $10 worth of groceries at time of gift card purchase to trigger this offer

Our Verdict

This one might link to your Price Plus card in which case the limit 1 will probably be enforced. Shoprite also requires a second visit to redeem the coupon.

The bright side is that lots of people shop there weekly anyway. In addition, in previous holiday seasons there were many of these deal week-after-week. Hopefully, there’ll be another one to do when you go in to redeem the coupon for groceries.

  • Our local stores may be the exception?
The family that owns the ShopRite stores in our area run it well. No "lowly employees" and great customer service! Been a weekly shopper of their stores for the past 20 years. No complaints.

  • These SR stores are are all privately owned not like the other chains. Bad customer service by lowly emplyees. I would notify the owner via phone and email. In NYS and CT the name of owner is prominently displayed at cust service and in flyer. The flyer lists the name of the operator. Waste of time arguing with employees. I bet the owner will mail you a nice SR gift card with some good $ on it. The ownerbis a business man and probably doesn not know what happened

  • Purchased $50 in gift cards mentioned above and coupon did not print. Explained to management and they refused to honor claiming $10 coupon only prints with $10 purchase. Read to them the circular to them and they refused to budge. Asked for transaction to be reversed and they refused. Needless to say called police to file police report and will dispute with credit card company. Also filed complaint with FTC.

    • My understanding is that the $10 requirement was referring to when you REDEEM the coupon (I see you understood that way as well).

      • The coupon prints on the bottom of the receipt, not separately. I just bought a Home Depot $50 gc, nothing else, and it printed fine.
I was wondering if I could also buy a Lowes card with the same Price Plus card - I'm told no, seems risky.

      • I had to stop doing these SR promos. Last year I had huge problems. Long story short, last year it was any gift card. It was capped and bolded in the flyer if I remember. I bought both variable and fixed vgc, but no voucher printed for next purchase. The store swore up and down they were excluded. I had lik 4 cards from various family member so I had to fight each time. Every recounter led to raised voices at customer service. I got what I was owed but it was waaaay to much trouble. I realize this ad isn't for vgc, but I feel like if the card isn't displayed in th ad, they won't honor. What the ad says and what they mean was 2 different things last year.

    • The weekly circular specifically states that a $10 minimum purchase must be made: "Minimum purchase of $10 required (excludes prescription medications, gift cards, gift certificates, postage stamp sales, milk, cigarettes, tobacco products and alcoholic beverages or any other items prohibited by law). "

  • there won't be any other cards eligible, only what's shown in ad. They seem to have the most sophisticated computer system of any grocery chain, and I shop at S&S/ACME/Tops/ etc. They are also the smallest. chain by far. BUT, stay tuned, the past 2/3 years they had great deals when buying 100 VGC on BF weekend and the following weekend. Coupon would print on bottom of receipt for 20.00 or 15.00 off the following week on groceries. Of course you need a price plus card and they are hard to game. Wife and I have one card each, but very hard to get price plus card for others.
