Our Verdict

Update: Looks like another music royalty fee of $4 and taxes, so profit will drop to $14 Amazon GC or less.

So you need to make sure you cancel otherwise you’ll be stuck paying $15.99 a month. You basically profit $20 Amazon gift card if you remember to do that. Keep in mind you must cancel via phone. It looks like you might be able to do this three times per e-mail address, but I’m not entirely sure how this works. If you’re like me and think you might forget to cancel, I’d stay away from this deal. If you are organized and don’t mind calling to cancel then this is a pretty good deal if you value Amazon gift cards highly. I’d probably do this deal if I could do it three times, but I think for now I will wait.

  • Cancelled a day before renewal. They still wanted to give me 19c in credit back on my card. Cancellation over phone was hassle free. Took about 4-5 minutes and they didn't try too hard to push the service. It goes to a far eastern call center (Manila, perhaps?) and they are pretty chill. I would totally do this deal again and cancel within 2-3 weeks to get more credit back. Perhaps the more aggressive spam or retention tactics are for the car-based SiriusXM service?

  • I signed up for this back in November and got the $50 gift card. Just canceled it now (way earlier than the full 6 months), and it wasn't too much of a hassle over the phone.
Canceling early is giving me a statement credit as well. Since I only used about half of the 6 months, I have $18 statement credit that they will refund to me.
If you did do this promo, cancel sooner rather than later to get some money back!

  • There is no mention of Amazon GC anymore on this offer. You can still signup for the discounted price of $30 for 6 months but you would NOT receive $50 amazon gift card. Wish I signed up earlier.

      • DoC, I think Jimmy is right above. Pretty sure SiriusXM is not honoring the promotion. I had signed up using the mobile link on Wednesday, and still haven't received any gift cards yet.

The remaining 20 accounts I signed up using the desktop link. To this day, still have not received a single gift card.

Writing this off as a lost cause.

I called today to cancel all 21 accounts :-) ROLFL! The lady almost had a heart attack when I said I need to cancel that many accounts. Was pretty straight forward. Gave her all the account numbers and received credit back to all original credit cards (yes, used 21 different credit cards and 21 different email addresses.)

Was hoping to make $1k+ in Amazon gift cards, but looks like the deal is dead. SiriusXM caught on with all the publicity for this offer.

        • Mobile link is still showing the promotion, I mean the fact that you haven't received the gift cards when you signed up for 20 accounts isn't exactly a compelling datapoint.

It hasn't even been 3-5 business days yet either. It's been an absolute maximum of 3 currently.

  • i call them and asked about the gift card.. they said they aren't sending the gift cards out anymore because "we found out this deal got posted on social media" :/

    • Hi, curious if you got in on the deal originally when the GC part was showing, or you contacted after the promo was removed and they are just refusing to honor? Thanks!

      • Great deal Doc! Just canceled and was refunded almost all of the purchase price after loading the GC, wound up costing a buck or something; canceling was no hassle at all...

        • I just called to cancel as well after receiving my GC a few days ago and was surprised that they offered to refund the remainder - assuming that actually goes through it'll end up being something like $48 profit.

          • I never received a GC, but do have a $50 statement credit on my credit card for "New Customer Reward" but the customer reward and the $36 fee from XM posted on the same day. Not sure if they are related.

XM is a nightmare trying to cancel though. They are "escalating the issue". They keep telling me to call Amazon and have them figure it out. WTF.

  • I don't understand the logic of saying the price for the radio service eats into the net price of the gift card.

    1. You're getting satellite radio service
    2. You're getting a gift card

These are two separate things. Sirius XM is currently offering this price as a discount without the gift card.

I've been a Sirius XM subscriber for many years, and I call every time my subscription gets close to renewing and renegotiate.

  • Looks like the offer has already been pulled. I'm clicking on the desktop link and do not see any mention of the $50 gift card.
