(Update 12/21/20: Applications are back now)
A reliable source tells of a memo which went out today indicating that effective Nov 30, 2020 no new applications will be accepted on the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve card. Possibly a temporary move, but we didn’t get any information on that.
The U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve card comes with a 50,000 points signup bonus which is worth $750 in travel.

The card is back online, no changes so far.
Added an update
I was just approved for the card and I just activated the card for Apple Pay. While on the line, I confirmed a couple of things with the CSR from the dedicated AR line.
1. Travel credit reimbursements for dining purchases has no current end date
2. I asked I noticed the card is no longer offered, are there going to be any changes to the card or rewards? She said no changes to the card that should affect you, we just are no longer offering the card. Of course these things can change, I just wanted to report back what I heard.
@chucksithe , not directly related but you should unify your tag format.
In the previous USBAR post regarding $325 being redeemable via dining, the tags were
"us bank" "us bank altitude reserve" "us bank credit cards"
In this post, the tags were
"altitude reserve" "u.s. bank"
Meaning it's impossible for the two posts to find each other because the tags happened to be mutually exclusive.
Fixed, ty
Yeah, tags have to be cut way down to overall categories. I don't know how to do it.
Looks like the application page has indeed disappeared. Wonder what their plan is for this card.
FWIW, the application page is still working... found it via Google Cache:
https://applications.usbank.com/oad/begin?locationCode=18569&offerId=DW9V2P3V61&sourceCode=36847
It doesn't show the offer details, but can be seen there:

I didn't attempt to apply, but thought I'd share in case others were interested in trying to push an app through today.
@chucksithe
Wanted to give this quick update to my post above as a DP that the cache link works:
I was just instantly approved for the card this evening using the link referenced in my prior comment!
I applied on Friday through the official application, got a notice saying they need additional time to review the application. Called recon today and automated system couldn't find my application with SSN. I already have a gold account with them.
Same here, got approval email 12/1 and card showed up today (12/2). Perhaps there's still hope for you?
Yea I got a letter saying that I need to unfreeze my credit bureau. They want to run experian which has like 19 inquires while the rest have 2 inquiries. I was wondering if it is possible they can somehow run Transunion for me in California?
They took the application page off as of today
@Benjamin P: I did the same yesterday day and was told need time to review as well and they found my application but no hardpull so far.
I am on the same boat. Applied on 11/30 and was told further review was required. No email or hardpull so far. Didn't call to check the status. Have 2 credit cards with them. will give update after a few days.
Just some updates, received email this morning that I was approved with $10K credit limits. Good luck to you all!
Hello everyone,
Just to give an update, haven't gotten any email or HP from them yet. As of tomorrow my inquiry status will be 0/6, 2/12, 0/24. Hoping this will give me better shots at approval.
Confirmed instant approval
Existing checking account with usb
What’s your gate inquiry status?
Its probably too late at this point but 1/6 3/12 7/24
Looks like it is no longer offered; not included here: https://www.usbank.com/credit-cards.html. I've had this card since it launched and love it.
After finding out this article, I called the nearest branch on 11/25/2020 and applied for the AR as an existing customer. I have gold checking with $30 deposit, US Bank Cash+ credit card, and an unsecured LOC for over two years. Application was under review at the end of the conversation. Got approved with $10k CL on 11/25.
Prior to the AR approval I was 0/6, 1/12. HP was TU with two inquires: one for mortgage lending and one for business BoA credit card opening.
Thanks DoC and keep up the good work! Happy Thanksgiving!
I was planning to apply for the card on Dec 3rd, not sure if I should wait or apply now just in case. Any recommendations?

Just applied before the deadline and I got Approved. 3/12, 740 scores, income 65K, my first US bank credit card, started my relationship with the bank 4 months ago with a checking account.
How the hell did you get approved at 3/12???
I absolutely have no idea. I have a gold checking account to avoid the fees and I have been paying my rent using US bank checks for the last four months so it might helped. They pulled experian.
I'm 3/12, thinking of a last-minute application :)
YOLO
dude, just go for it
With more and more point-of-sale terminals supporting contactless pay (and people being encouraged to use it) I wonder if the 3x benefit is sustainable.
That's allowed me to get 4.5% back on a lot of "big" transactions that would otherwise be unbonused- dental bills, car repairs, vet bills, any physical store etc.
Yes, I spent a few thousand at living space, and insist on Apple Pay to pay it (they tried four terminals and finally worked lol) definitely worth it, few hundreds back lol
I’ve been crushing at least $4k/mo on mobile wallet since the card launched. My absolute favorite card. I’ll be very upset if it goes away. Gravy train can’t last forever I guess. Will cash out my points on “travel” this week just in case.
It’s also a great boon to folks who have a P2 who isn’t interested in the game. “Use Apple Pay everywhere possible” is agreeable enough for my P2.
@guest_1096736 well done. could you explain a bit about "travel" options. thanks
real time rewards. and sometimes plans change...
If you log into the Altitude Reserve Rewards Center you’ll see that the card has been redesigned (vertical like the no fee Altitude card, a “RESERVE” written down the length of the card). I think they are getting ready for a relaunch.
@chucksithe looks like @guest_1096736 was right about the redesign:

What a hideous re-design. Hopefully the card benefit "re-design" won't be as terrible.
I have been on the fence with this card. I opened up a bank account for the $400 bonus figuring I would get this card eventually however there are several chase cards that I want and I'll be at 4/24 in February with my next new account drop off in June.
