The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Southwest is offering a free companion pass that is good from Oct. 5 and Nov. 15, 2024 when you book a one round trip or two one-way qualifying flights between the U.S. mainland and Hawaii) by May 24, 2024 and travel between June 1 and July 31, 2024

Our Verdict

Kind of lame the pass is only good for a month and a half. Good deal if you were planning to fly to Hawaii anyway and have additional travel when the companion pass is good but that would be a small use case I imagine.

  • I'm actually going to Hawaii via Southwest during the dates, except my return flight is outside the dates of course. But we already have companion pass until Feb 2025 lol. I agree weak promotion.

  • This is the most bizarre promotion. They are giving us less than 48 hours to book a round trip to hawaii. What a waste of everyone's time.

    • It's only good if you're actually going there anyway by chance

      Southworst

      • Those who actually going there probably have to rebook at much higher price to trigger this offer. So it's not even good for them either.

  • Book a trip in a week for the hottest months to a tropical island for a pass usable in shoulder seasons. I wonder who they think will be targeted by this? Almost more of an ad than a real promotion.
