Our Verdict

Sweet offer especially for someone with travel to book anyway. You can even cancel an old booking (e.g. if you booked with points which is eligible for refund) and book again with cash to get this promotion.

  • How many times can you change the companion with this pass? Is it 3 like the normal companion pass?

  • I completed this and received the email immediately after. Then I called them because I already had fares booked for February and I wanted to change one to a companion. She said I may have to wait until Nov 17 when the promo ends. The email said to go ahead and book now. What has everyone else been able to do?

  • Does anyone know if I booked these flights but no show. Will I still get the pass next year?

  • Just completed my trip after registering for this in early September. Can I book a trip now at full price and then later use the companion pass to rebook? Otherwise I fear booking in January will yield less flying possibilities.

  • Does anyone know if I buy two one way tickets with me and a passenger, would that qualify or do I have to fly 2 times?

  • Reading through the fine print, I'm unable to figure out if this would just be a two-month extension for someone who already has a companion pass - anyone know?

  • Doesn't look like you have to book with cash to get the deal, I don't see what's stopping you from cancelling a current booking and rebooking at the same price with travel funds to get the deal (other than change in fare)

    • Change in price since you booked is all that's stopping you. I asked on their twitter page and their customer service rep said using previous travel credits counted as a "qualifying revenue flight."

    • This is exactly what I did. Fortunately, the fares now were about $100 cheaper than when I booked a month ago so it's a win/win

  • This sucks. I have a flight already booked for Disney in November. I don't want to risk canceling and rebooking with travel funds. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

    • Just book the new flight in cash, then cancel and use the travel funds in the future. They don't expire any more so it's basically good as cash.

    • You can have your ticket booked for the flights you plan to use the Companion Pass on but it won't give you an option to "add companion" to that ticket until after you receive the actual Companion Pass

      • Does it matter if I book now and by the time companion pass is added prices have changed? Not sure if it’s similar to buy one get one but it has to be equal or lesser option
