  • Southwest has a number of promotions:
    • Earn 2X on flights. Earn double tier qualifying points on all qualifying flights when you register, book, and fly between March 1-May 31, 2023.
    • Earn with reward travel. Every flight purchased with points counts as one tier qualifying flight, and 10% of points redeemed qualify as TQPs when you register, book, and fly between March 1-May 31, 2023.2
    • Earn with Rapid Rewards® Credit Card purchases. Earn 3,000 tier qualifying points for every $5,000 in purchases you make with any Rapid Rewards Credit Card from March 1-May 31, 2023. These bonus TQPs are in addition to the TQPs you already earn as a Cardmember.

Our Verdict

Worth registering for if you fly with Southwest or have a Southwest credit card.

  • @will . This might be a Tier Qualifying Points set of offers only, if my reading of the terms is right. Maybe the title could be updated to: "Southwest Promotions: Double TQPs for paid flights, TQF + TQP for award flights and More" instead?

    "Tier qualifying points are not eligibile to use for redemption toward flights or with More Rewards".

  • I was able to “rebook” two upcoming flights using the Change feature without a change in price/points even though the price has increased, but received new confirmations dated today. So curious if those will now track as March purchases for this promo.

    • It is better to just cancel and rebook with a new PNR. The last time I did a change with the same PNR - it didn't count. So YMMV

        • Interesting...They used to run these types of free rebooking deals a few years ago, but I don't think I've seen it since 2020 or 2021.

    • For some reason the direct link won't work, even though the URL is correct.

      Try this - one you log into your SW account, click on My Account, then scroll down to the section that say "My promotions". There should be a button/link there to register.
