Our Verdict

35% is a nice discount, but these properties are extremely overpriced to begin with in my opinion. That being said, I’m also not the type of person to spend $500+ cash on a single night stay either so I’m not exactly the target market. If anybody has stayed at any of these properties, feel free to share your experiences in the comments. Similarly if you plan to book any of these properties let us know.

  • The St. Regis Bora Bora is mindblowing. I stayed on my honeymoon and it was by far the best hotel / resort experience I've ever had. We had a private butler, access to private island, over-water bungalo with great snorkeling, incredible service... it is definitely not over-priced. It's legit worth $1,500 per night for a special occasion so 39,000 SPG points is actually good value from those points IMO.

    • I went there too during holiday 2012.
Rained 5 days out of 6... so disappointed but there's nothing we can do.
Hardware is indeed very good, but the weather ruined it.

On the other hand when we visited IC Le Moana Bora Bora, weather was super nice and it was the best vacation I've ever had in my life. The concierge did anything and beyond what we asked for.

    • St Regis Bora Bora constantly goes for under $600 per night if you know where to look. So 39K SPG is not worth it since I want to get at least 3 cents redemption. My last SPG points redemption I got 8 cents at St Regis Maldives.

  • Al maha is not overpriced IMHO. I spend there 2 nights in my honeymoon on points and it was a unique experience completely worth it!! The room is a huge luxury house in the middle of the desert with your own pool overlooking the deserts and animals. All food is included and its luxurious food, I had filet mignon as breakfast lol. 2 activities per day are included and they are awesome and luxurious at the same time.

    • Can you give some examples of the activities or are they listed on the site somewhere? Filet mignon for breakfast, love it.

    • We booked 2 nights at Al Maha for early November. So glad to see the discount showing up again this year. It looks amazing!
