Basically the best version of this deal as it’s for the Visa cards, no activation fee and 5 cards maximum. Remember to use a card that earns at a high rate on office supply store purchases.
Datapoint: I successfully bought 5 at a Staples in Houston. There were only three left. The other locations in Houston were out.
The limit of 5 actually killed my store. When it was limit 1, they used to let me buy 10. Now they’re gone by the time I get there. I guess there are a lot of people who abide by the rules of the sign.
Got the last $200 VGC at my local store this afternoon, no fee.

Promo is still working in Southern Illinois. Went to the local staples and bought two $200 cards and no fee was added at the register.
It wasn’t advertised in my local store tonight. The card rang up with the $6.95 fee at the register. Seeing as others in the comments have had similar experience today, it might be worth adding a note that it’s expired or at least YMMV
