Synchrony Bank has launched a new credit card with no annual fee which earns a flat 2% cash back on all purchases. Readers Jim and David got a mailer about this card, along with $150 signup bonus offer after spending $1,500 within 90 days. Card also has 0% APR introductory offer.
Direct Link to offer (you need an authorization code to apply, these were sent out to targeted people via mailer)
This card hasn’t yet really hit the internet, only the targeted offer link presented above. We did once before hear of this card back over a year ago when Toys R Us cardholders were product changed to this card when the retailer went out of business. Synchrony also runs a similar card in partnership with Paypal which offers no annual fee and 2% cash back on all purchases. That card has no foreign transaction fee either, while this Synchrony Mastercard does have a foreign transaction fee.
We’ll probably see a more public roll out at some point in the future. For now, it’s invite only as they test out and expand the product, presumably. $150 signup bonus is nice for a 2% card, though it’s entirely possible they’ll drop or lower the bonus if/when rolling out the card publicly.

Received a paper mailer for this card, $100 bonus after $1000 spend.
I didn't receive the $150 bonus after spending way more than $1500 in the first 90 days.
Doesn’t seem to be an app for the iPhone. Also if you don’t choose electronic statements you can’t view them online. I hate that!
It's an Ok credit card. It has the potential to be a fabulous credit card but it lacks a lot of the basics that you come to expect from a credit card. My biggest complain is that although the 2% cash back is awesome, THEY will automatically redeem it for you at the end of the billing cycle. That's new to me since all other credit cards allow you to build up your points/cash back and redeem when YOU are ready to apply as a statement credit or as a direct deposit. Secondly, the $150 sign up bonus after you spend $1500 is not applied until about 2-3 billing cycles. Thirdly, they do not have an app for you to manage your account. You are stuck logging into their website and trying to control all features thru a page that was made for PC not mobile devices. My fourth complain is that they are still working on sending notifications of any transaction that occurs. I'm use to receiving a notice as soon as any transaction occurs on my card.Unfortunately they only send you a text notifying you that there was a purchase but no details of the transaction are given. The only way to know the details is to wait until you receive an email that has the transaction details. I would give this credit card a 5/10. Again, if they allowed us the consumer to control the cash back option, create an app, and send up to the minute transaction notification, I would rate this card higher.
I was hesitant, but figured why not. I haven't had any real bad experience with Synchrony. I got the pre-qualified mailer with 0% for 12 months and $150 bonus. I was instantly approved for $7000 and a 19.49% APR. Scores low 700's and $85k salary. I just wish the intro 0% was good on balance transfers also. But I'm happy with this offer.
I signed up for this card via the mailer they sent with the code. i've spent well over the $1500 required to get the cash bonus, but no where on the website can i find that tells me how close, or when i will receive the cash bonus.
They said it takes 2-3 billing cycles to receive the $150 statement credit
I reached the spending requirements in December and now through Jan 15, Feb 15 and Mar 15 billing cycles and yet to see any sign of the bonus.
SAME! I spent it, no bonus to be seen. Where do I even get to see all the points I've earned? Their website SUCKS.
Received a variation of this offer today, with the $150 bonus but without the 0% intro APR. Got $10,000 credit line with a mid-5-digit income.
@chucksithe - did any one received instant approval. For me it mentioned that they will provide the decision in mail within 7-10 days. Does that mean it was not approved?
sounds like typical Synch thing. a secured email with denial reason. Most likely identity reasoning.
True story: I got IA on PayPal MC and Rakuten VISA earlier in the year. They only gave me a $300 TJX Card with a previous denial as my phone was not "cell phone"

I received instant approval and for a nice amount . They sent me an invitation and it was for the 2%, 150 Cash back and for 0% interest untill 2021
Any info on which Mastercard benefits will apply?
