Tally: $100 Amazon Gift Card To Pay Off Credit Cards [Referral Bonus]

The Offer

  • Tally is offering a $100 referral bonus (in the form of an Amazon gift card) when you sign up. Tally is a service that offers a line of credit that is used to pay off your credit card bills, you then pay Tally. You need to add at least one card and have a minimum interest-bearing balance of $1,000 across all credit cards.

The Fine Print

  • Referral rewards capped at $599.99 per individual each calendar year
  • In order for the Tally participant to receive a referral award, the Referee must become an active user and have a minimum interest-bearing balance of $1,000 across all registered cards.

Our Verdict

We’ve seen a $50 bonus via Groupon before. Keep in mind with this offer you need interest-bearing balance of $1,000+ across all cards, so I assume balances under the grace period won’t qualify. Tally charges an interest rate of 7.9% – 19.9%, don’t really see how that is cheaper than a credit card itself. I didn’t think the $50 bonus was worth doing, but for $100 and a chance at some referrals it might be. Just make sure you don’t get in the habbit of not paying balances in full as that will be much more expensive than $100. It’s a hard pull as well so probably still not worth doing.

You can use reader Jake D’s referral link who sent in this offer, or you can find and share your referrals in this linked post. Please do not share your link in the comments below.

  • May be worth it if you have a low (but positive) APR promotion on one of your cards (e.g., 1.99% APR for 6 months).

  • and for those who might benefit from the service in general...denied; approval only for those who don't need it, what a joke

    • lol so their target demo is idiots, who have a lot of time on their hands?

  • Seems like a lot of work and risk for $100, but I guess some people really need the money.

  • If they're offering a LoC, won't they also cause a HP?

A HP for $100 sounds like a terrible offer, considering you also need to accrue interest before you can get that offer. Might as well as sign up for some random bank credit card instead.

    • They didn’t hard pull for me but YMMV. Might depend on stats, i remember them emailing me something a while back about how they function differently in CA

  • There is also a 3,000 Swagbucks that doesn’t have anything to do with any balance. Just sign up and link a card. No hard pull there.

I also see this on my account mine doesn’t say anything for the other person. Only me. Is this a different offer?

    • “ In order for the Tally Participant to receive a referral award, the Referee must become an Active User and have a minimum interest-bearing balance of $1,000 across all registered cards. If a successful referral is completed (a Referee becomes an Active User), the referral award will be sent to the email address provided by the Tally Participant. Tally shall use reasonable efforts to make payment of any referral award within thirty (30) days of the Referee becoming an Active User.”

This makes it seem like it’s just the person who REFERS not the person who signs up. I’m deleting my link from the other site, I think this is a bad deal.

      • That's what I thought at first, but if you look at the screenshot it shows $100 for the person signing up as well.

        • It may depend on the link then! My link for sure does not seem to have the offer for the other person. I would hope the people posting their links check first. I just ran mine through where I logged out of the app and it doesn’t mention anything.

          • Similar thing happened for the person who sent this offer in, but eventually it showed up after logging in and out etc. I think the app just sucks and everybody is eligible but could be wrong

  • "you need interest-bearing balance of $1,000+", so I suspect most DoC readers won't qualify. @will I like how you always advise not to carry an interest-bearing balance; then why post this potentially rabbit hole deal?

    • Not every visitor here is living CC debt free. Some are aspiring to it. Some are having financial difficulties due to the pandemic. While I may be lucky enough to not experience any financial difficulties at this time, there are some readers who are. If you think the advice here isn't for you, nobody is forcing you to not only read the articles, but to reply to them too.

      • @guest_975690 I like how you opted to ignore the word "most" in my comment, and liked even more the fact that you didn't say "you can always leave the country"!

        • @guest_975576 Sounds like you got some underlying issues under that cold, bitter demeanor you exhibit. Therapy is expensive, but alcohol is not. I would recommend the former, but I suspect the latter would better appeal to you. Cheers!

          • @guest_975690 since you have already diagnosed my underlying issues and have recommended therapy, I wonder why I wasn't offered a discount.

    • Because some people are able to take advantage of it without it being a rabbit hole deal. I believe in providing strong advice, but I also believe in personal responsibility.

      • He's right: I could run one up north of $1000 pretty easily (and organically) and then just leave it there for this 'deal', if I valued this thing that is.
