  • Target is offering a $5 Target giftcard when you purchase a $50 Choice giftcard

Our Verdict

Not a huge discount and it’s in the form of a Target giftcard, but might be good for personal use. You can also use the Redcard 5% discount on this.

  • accidentally bought $100 thinking i would get two $5 gift cards but only got 1 of them. makes sense. just a heads up.

    • It turns out that you can make multiple "$50" orders, and I got $5 gift cards on every one of them (so far).

  • One of the cards (Pack and Go) is good at Chevron/Texaco, but how would you use an email gift card at a gas station?

    • @Ren You have to redeem the Pack and Go for a Chevron e-gift card and then load it into the Chevron app as a payment method. You use the app to pay. Chevron also has a decent rewards program and you earn points in it by paying with the app. If you use the gift card as payment, you can drain it to $0. The pump will just stop at that point.

I do it all the time with discount Pack and Gos since the Chevrons near me tend to have competitive prices. I also redeem them for Southwest gift cards for last-minute fare purchases and sometimes for Grubhub. Best of the Choice cards IMHO.

    • I haven't used this personally, but the reviews on Target website indicate that you use the gift card to reload the balance on your Chevron app, then use the app at the gas station

  • The RedCard discount will apply to $45 of the card purchase (Target reduces the charge of the card and the TGC doesn't count for 5%). Alternatively you can use Chase Freedom/Flex for this quarter's bonus of 5%.
