Our Verdict

Pretty weak offer, not sure $5 is worth installing the app and getting it set up unless you plan to use it anyway. Reader Kalvan also saw the offer after downloading the Chase Pay app and selecting offers

  • Slickdeals thread still reporting that this works (for some, extreeme YMMV). I can't get it to work - does it seem reasonable to hope that Chase might respond to a complaint by issuing a courtesy credit, or is that a lost cause since I'm sure they're flooded with complaints.

  • The amounted charged to my Freedom card earned the 3Q 5% bonus points for the Restaurant category, which I didn't even remember. Nice.

  • Is there a way to order ahead using Chase Pay on a desktop instead of the app or is this only an in-app option?

    • As long as the desktop version gives you the order summary before placing the order (like on the app version), you could see if the $5 discount is included.

  • Or use this for either Alaska's Dash for Challenge or UA's targeted 3 partner promo (same as Alaska's). I earn 1500 UA miles on a $8 tuna sub with the final cost being $3. I'll probably have this installed on the S/O's mobile and see what comes up.
    This can probably be used in combination with Groupon's 20% Starbucks promo, which is why I am willing to load it onto my S/O's mobile.

  • I think they had a similar offer a few months ago, I used it to get $5 off a domino's pizza, the only slightly annoying part was i only worked for carryout and not delivery, nice to get $5 off a shitty $8 pizza though.

  • Figured out how to check the offer in your account.

    1. Launch the app and go to merchants
    2. Look for merchants near you that have "Order Ahead" noted
    3. Select one of those merchants and click "Order Ahead"
    4. Look at Offers tab that now shows up

    It showed up this offer in my account.

    Starbucks didn't have Order Ahead noted against it but some of the local eating places had that.

    • I've ordered through Chase Pay to a restaurant and it went through Yelp's Eat24 platform. Either multiple platforms or different geographies use different platforms.

      I'm in Las Vegas.
