Our Verdict
Will be interesting to see if this works if you open online and you didn’t receive the targeted mailer. I assume it will but you never know with these types of things. Obviously the bonus itself is insane, $300 and basically no requirements. Just open, deposit $1,500 and wait for bonus to post. I won’t be adding this to the best business checking bonuses due to the targeted nature, but it might be worth the risk. I’d just think that you won’t get the bonus if you’re not targeted and then it be a happy surprise if you do.

DP for closing:
No luck with SM or calling all of my 'local' branches to close the account over the phone. They all said business accounts can only be closed in branch or by mailing a notarized letter.
In the end, I happened to have a trip planned to a BB&T friendly state and closed in-branch there.
Unfortunately I was charged $12 for dipping below the minimum on the days it took to put money back in after originally transferring out the full balance in order to close over the phone, but was denied.. They were sympathetic in branch but unable to waive this fee "because it is a business account." They also had to call a different team to analyze the account before closing. Seems they have some different rules and restrictions in general for business accounts.
Everything else about this bonus was pretty smooth, but closing the account certainly involves some hassle.
Located in IN, opened account, received bonus, unable to close a account except by going to branch, except there are only two branches in IN and both are located about 5 hours from where I live. On top of that I'm not even in the country at the moment.
Finally called the nearest branch, was very polite and explained what I needed to have happened. The branch manager said since I already had a zero balance they'd close the account over the phone, but normally require a notarized letter.
Anyone have any luck closing this account? I tried secure messages, first response was to go in branch. I replied that the nearest branch was over 100 miles away. So they said send notarized letter, with SSN, account #, to a branch in Cincinnati to request closing. I have had no luck calling the customer service # listed on the site. Can't get past the automated menu to speak to a live person.
I sent an SM and after 5 days they responded and said they can't close a biz account online, that I need to go to a branch. I called my nearest branch (50 miles away) and they closed the account over the phone.
I have a few more days to zero out my account and then plan to online chat or secured message them to close. Will update next week if i get lucky or not.
Update: after 5 calls and 3 emails (first 3 calls went nowhere other then told me to go to the branch and they never responded to my emails), a week of waiting for their primised call back, finally yesterday a supervisor took care of it. Fyi, i zeroed out the account before requested for closing.
Was this a supervisor at specific branch that you were calling/emailing with?
Each branch Ive called so far says they can only close accounts in branch or by mailing a notarized letter.
To be honest, i really don't know. The number i called was just their bank customer service, but i was transferred several times before i asked for supervisor. I was just very frustrated and really upset by that time and told them i was ready to file a complaint if they continue to be nonresponsive.
