Our Verdict
This card normally earns 2x points on all purchases. With this offer you earn an additional 2,500 points for $500 spend, so that’s an extra 5x points per $1 spent. Definitely worth doing if you were targeted and don’t need that spend to meet other minimum spend requirements.

Today my Oct - Nov statement closed today, received a $20 Bonus, and i spent approx 2K. But didn't see anything targeted come into my email...
Remember, you can always prepay utilities or taxes (2% cost)
I received this offer back in June. It hasn't paid out yet, but i guess they have some more time.
f you qualify, the 2,500 bonus points will be posted to your Alliant Visa Platinum Rewards account within 45 days after the promotion concludes on June 30, 2020.
@will May I suggest adding a ballpark of what the points are worth, I mean in general for your blog, I have been frequenting usccguide to look at their chart to get an idea even though I’m not fond of that site or it’s hosting server/country but when I need a reference it’s the fastest to look at. Yes everyone values points differently but you could give a range or state what you think the points are worth to you. IMHO I think it would benefit most people because it would give readers a reference point and gauge if they are getting the maximum benefit or not which will generate discussion for the benefit of all.
Most are worth about 1¢ unless it's a flexible point like Chase UR and then it really varies based on how you value the transfer partners
@will I just got this offer today. I downgraded my 2.5% card to rewards a few weeks ago.
Interesting, end date?
Sorry, u should have given more detail. From the email:
You’re already spending money, so why not earn a little something while you do it?
When you spend $500 with your Alliant Visa Platinum Rewards Card by May 15, 2019, you’ll get 2,500 points on Alliant1, in addition to your 2 rewards points2 for every $1 you spend.
No opt-in necessary; just pay using your card and you’re eligible!
This is the offer I got today:
Earn a $25 statement credit for spending at least $500 (net purchases less credits, returns and adjustments) on qualifying transactions completed between 4/15/19 & 5/15/19. Limit of one $25 statement credit. If you qualify, the $25 statement credit will be posted to your Alliant Visa Platinum credit card account within 45 days after the promotion concludes on May 15, 2019.
Targeted at cardholders who don't use the card much?
Like Dave, I almost never use the card, and I DID get the offer.
7% CB on $500 would be great if I wasn't trying to meet minimum spend on a couple other cards at the moment.
I don't use the card at all, and I got the offer.
Card is a daily driver for me, and didn't get targeted. :/
