Amazon is offering up to $40 off when you purchase a Fire Tablet with at least one Membership Rewards point. In addition the Fire Tablets are on sale now, marked down between $15 and $40 for Prime members.

The Fine Print

  2. Offer is available by invitation only, is non-transferable, is not redeemable for cash, and may not be resold.
  3. Offer applies only to the purchase of eligible Fire tablet devices sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC (look for “sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC” on the product detail page).
  4. Offer applies only when purchase is made with an eligible American Express Card, where Membership Rewards points are used for at least a portion of the purchase and the promotion code is applied at checkout.
  5. Offer may not be combined with other offers.
  6. This offer may be redeemed on up to five units of each qualifying device with a maximum of one discount per unit. Offer good while supplies last.
  7. Offer does not apply to the purchase of digital content or Amazon.com Gift Cards.
  8. Shipping charges and taxes may apply to the full value of discounted promotional items.

Our Verdict

We posted this deal before, it now got a little bit better now due to the sale Amazon is running in their tablets. Some people buy these for resale. They can also make good cheap gifts as well.

Go through Topcashback for an additional 8% back on the purchase. Amazon will automatically charge the remainder (beyond the 1 MR point) to the linked Amex card. Some people are able to get it to pull the rest from their Amazon gift card balance.

  • This offer works partially on me. I can only apply the discount on Fire 8 and the discount doesn't work on neither Fire 7 nor 10. So weird.

  • Ugh, Amazon lost my pay with MR points option and chat help has been worthless.

  • I made a typo in a previous comment but this deal is only for Prime members because you have to be a prime member for the initial sale price.

  • The initial discount (e.g. $34.99 for the 7) is for PRIME customers online. Should probably add that to info.

  • Do you have to purchase each one separately? Or can I buy 5 at once and get the discount on each? Tried ordering 5, but only one $30 discount.

  • Earlier today, Amazon Kindle Paperwhite ($120 retail) was available for $39.99. I bought one and it's shipped already.

  • I have had luck selling the 8 inch tablet for $50 a pop. Has anyone had similar success with a reasonable margin on the 10 inch version? Seems like it might be a harder sell so I am unsure about grabbing a bunch of them and I used up all the 8 inch and 7 inch with the amex promo. Thanks.

    • Also, If you want to use any other type of cc just load your amazon account exactly what you need to complete the purchase and it will let you pay .01 with 1 membership reward point and the remainder will be covered entirely with your gc balance.
