Our Verdict
Even with the 20% discount this still isn’t great value. Whole Foods works out to be 1.06¢ per point and Gap is the best at 1.25¢ most readers will get more value out of transferring to American Express travel partners, you can also cash out points for 1.25¢ each if you hold the Charles Schwab Platinum card as well. They had a similar deal earlier in the year with different brands as well.

Be careful with their eGift cards; they expire in six months.
And no, it is not mentioned during redemption or on the g/c itself.
I thought CA has a clause that gift card can’t expired? I guess these are voucher codes?
Amex must think we're really stupid...
I redeem Amex MR points for gift cards. I have enough airfare miles from Southwest and American Airlines to fly anywhere in the world I want many times a year. The redemption of points on hotels or transfer to hotel programs is terrible. Gift Cards seem to be a good redemption if you can get 1 cent value or more.
