The Offer
No direct link, targeted offer
- Get 15% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled Card at a U.S. gas station by 12/31/19. Limit $5 in total statement credits
The Fine Print
- Offer valid for purchases at gas station locations in the U.S. An “eligible purchase” means a purchase made with your enrolled Card at U.S. gas station locations by 12/31/2019.
- Offer excludes online purchases and marina fuel or any type of commercial fuel (e.g.- jet fuel) purchases.
- For purposes of this offer, “gas station” means a merchant that is in the primary business of selling gasoline to consumers.
- Gas stations may sell other convenience items, but its primary business must be selling gasoline to consumers.
- The following are NOT considered gas stations: superstores, supermarkets, and warehouse clubs that sell gasoline.
Our Verdict
Try to add this to a card that earns at a bonus rate on gas purchases if possible. Cap of $5 makes this a pretty unexciting offer, I suspect it’s also highly targeted.

Did anyone try this at a warehouse club to see if it actually works? I know it says that it won’t, but similar offers from other cards have worked at Costco and BJ’s because the charges comes thru coded as gas stations. I know it wont work at Costco since they don’t take AMEX but it would at BJ’s.
0/9 which is fine. Costco is 25% cheaper than all the other gas stations in my area.
Got this on Hilton no fee card, which only gets used for deals like this. 🙂
Interesting. I got this one on my Delta Gold AmEx. I usually do not use that card.
With the $5 cap they could have just included jet fuel purchases lol
Found it on personal Gold/Green/Everyday — nothing on family member cards.
Too bad I alrdy used the BPme offer otherwise it would’ve been nice to combine BPme + 400 MR pts on $40 gas offer + this $5 on $33.33 offer
($33.333333) * (.15) = 5
