The Offer

No direct link, targeted offer

  • Get a $45 statement credit when you use an American Express card enrolled in this offer to spend $90 or more with Mint Mobile by 11/9/2020.
  • Others are getting an offer for just $30.

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid online only via mintmobile.com and merchant mobile app
  • Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 11/9/2020

Our Verdict

Sometimes Mint Mobile has discounted plans available via Best Buy. They have a new ‘unlimited plan’ that is $30 per month, but it’s actually 35GB and then the speed is capped. You can use this link to load your account with $90.

  • Mint Mobile currently offers 12 month unlimited plan for $180 for new customers. Question is if we can split the payment to two Amex cards.

  • P1 got the offer on Blue Sky, P2 got it on SkyMiles Blue.

Is it still possible to change the wallet reload amount in the URL (e.g. from 20 to 90), and does that still trigger the AmEx offer? I did that a couple times in the past with success - reloading $90 twice then getting $45 x2 back on each AmEx card.

Not with Mint currently but am considering going back if the above will work to join w/ a discounted 3-mo plan then renew for another year at roughly half price.

  • Does anyone know if paying for a plan with wallet balance means you dont have to pay for recovery fees, etc?

    • Yes, you are not paying those fees when you pay with wallet balance.
But you do pay fees when loading the wallet. Strangely, you pay a bit less in fees if you load wallet and than pay for plan vs plan directly.

      • would the fees just disappear if the wallet balance reaches the total cost? right now i see an option to pay renewal with the $90 balance i loaded + credit card, but fees didnt change.

  • I have my yearly plan renewal of $180 coming on 12/18.... and I don't have this offer on Amex! Darned thing hardly ever gives me offers I'd use.
