The Fine Print
- Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and use same Card to redeem.

- Payments must be made directly with the provider online, via mobile app or by phone. Payments made at service centers do not qualify.
- Payments for hardware, installation, and other services are excluded, if not bundled and charged with monthly service bill.
- Excludes payments for satellite radio services and subscriptions with streaming television providers.
- Limit $10 in total statement credits per American Express® online account. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/2017, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase.
- Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant.
- Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled.
- If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit.
- For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant.
- In addition, in most cases, you will not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. POID: G9NW:0001
Our Verdict
They offered the same thing in July with an expiry of November 15th, I doubt anybody will be targeted for both offers but if you are then they should stack. Keep in mind you can prepay your bill to lock in the discount. They also have a similar offer on cell phone bills.

Just posting a curious note here: I used this offer back in October-November 2017. I just checked on that credit as it was going to take weeks to be given back. It seems the reps can't see it and it has not posted at all on all 3 of my accounts. It seems either Marketing or the Amex system did not code this correctly, even though it my charge states "cable bill" on it. If you used this offer, don't forget it to check on that cashback or it will be not given by Amex!
I pay cable and internet through first billing. Will this qualify?
What the ...? I'm absolutely certain I had the offer of 10% back on cable bills ($30 max, expiring on 11/15/2017) on one of my AU's account. Prompted by this post, I went to check it again for the umpteenth time: Somehow it has changed to the same 10% back on cell phone bills (same max and expiration date). I have the same darn cell phone bill offer on my primary card already. I'm absolutely sure I was not hallucinating.
Similar issue here.. I had the 11/15 cable offer for 3x 1k MR per $100 spend which I've used 2 so far, and today it has disappeared..
Did you check using the old amex login?
If you happen to have Verizon as your cable provider it will code as both cell phone and cable for a total of 20% off. You’ve gotta do a one time payment for it to code this way though
I got the previous offer in July on two cards, but no cards have this one.
Do they inspect L3 data to see what services the payment is for? What if I get internet-only service from a cable company?
got credits of $30 each on three cards when I pre paid cable internet service.
Specifying the company would have been helpful.
We get Internet only from a cable company (Spectrum, formerly TWC). Have used two rounds of this offer in the past. Worked both times.
