[Expired] [Targeted] Amex Offers: Delta Airlines, Spend $300 & Get $120 Statement Credit

Deal has ended, view more Delta Airlines deals by clicking here.

Update 11/21/20: More people targeted, some people are seeing this on Delta cards as well.

The Offer

Targeted offer, check your Amex Offers to see if you got this one

  • Get $120 statement credit when you spend $300+ in one or more transactions with Delta Air Lines using an enrolled card. Flights must originate in the U.S. and purchase must be in USD.

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 12/31/20
  • Excludes lounge purchases, gift cards, and in-person purchases at the airport

Our Verdict

A lot more generous than previous Amex offers, but given the circumstances this isn’t surprising. Terms exclude gift cards but on previous deals it has worked for gift card puchases but as always YMMV and you never know if American Express is going claw it back or not.

  • i bought a $300 delta gift card on my laptop this morning and got the AMEX offer email notification. so it seems to work

  • I want to use this offer to book a travel for next year, given that they eliminated the change fee. Does delta allow changing the route or even travelers?

  • No luck for me. All five cards do not have this offer. I use my AmEx's a lot and the best promotions are usually targeted at fickle consumers, not loyal ones.

  • Just bought a 1x $300 gift card via delta.com and immediately got an email from Amex saying I triggered the offer. We will see if the $120 actually gets credited...

  • Any data points from last year on people who booked a flight and then later cancelled? Claw backs? How long did you wait before cancel?

    • Can you you book a flight with $300 , then cancel flight for credit, then use the credit with the Companion ticket e-certificate?

      • That was a generalized comment, I haven't used my companion certificate nor book with this offer yet

        • I know that I can use wallet funds with the Alaska CP - was just trying to plan so we could make use of DW Delta CP certificate.

  • For people that added the offer but it doesn't show up in the the offers added tab. It is most likely because you have 100 or more offers added. Since it will only display 100 offers max, you will have to wait for the added offers to expire for it to show up,
