I would expect solid Vegas deals this fall and into the winter. MtM Vegas had a report this past week noting that gaming revenue on the strip is down 15% YoY comparing July 2023 and 2024. There were a few excuses given by execs about how the calendar lined up, but I think that's baloney because other areas like downtown and off strip actually saw increases in revenue during the same period. Rumor has it that F1 bookings have been softer than anticipated thus far.
I think travelers are just tired of things like 000 roulette, 6:5 blackjack, $50+ resort fees, and paying $10 for a slice of pizza. Both your gaming and non-gaming dollars go much further at places like South Point, Plaza, or GVR.
Of course, my trip is going to be 12/1
I used this offer in the summer of 2023 for a trip this past May. I called in and paid $400 for my booked reservation, and then the credit was awarded. Just call up mgm and ask to make a payment towards your room.
Now that Marriott has the MGM partnership, does anyone know if booking through marriott.com and not mgmresorts.com will trigger the offer? Since you are paying at the hotel itself, does check-out distinguish between which hotel site you booked the room from originally? TYIA.
Heading to Vegas during that time frame but after just checking it looks like my cost at Horseshoe still comes in under what their cheapest offering(Excalibur) would be with this offer. Plus it gives me an arguably better location on the strip. Maybe next time.
great
Is there some way to get this to trigger on a GC like the Marriott offer? I called Park MGM's concierge and they mentioned that GCs can't be purchased as a room charge, but I'm hoping there's another way...
If you purchase it from the concierge it codes as MGM and works.
isnt it the mgm gift card i dont think they sell marriott gift cards, so it may work if you want an mgm gift card
I take it spend $700 , $140 back at Bellagio booked via FHR and using my $200 credit with my Platinum wouldn't work since I'm paying directly through that portal?
The T&C are pretty clear that it will not: "Reservations must be made directly through MGM Resorts online at mgmresorts.com, by phone, or via mobile app"
You'll have to call/chat with Amex for your FHR reservation instead of directly booking online, and tell them you want to "pay at the hotel". In that way the charge is directly from hotel instead of amex travel.
My stay isn't until November and MLife wants me to pay about half now to book. Can I book with a different card now and have them charge full amount to Amex at checkin/checkout?
I had the same problem. The expiration on my card is end of July. It's as if they're ensuring I have to complete the stay before the expiration.
Can I book before the offer expires but have my stay in December? I know it states in the term that lodging must be within the time frame of the offer but how would they know I am staying in December versus October since the transaction will only read a direct purchase from mgm.com?
I did a chat with Amex and they said it was possible. However, when booking through the link the charge is always below the minimum to get the discount, with the rest payable at check in.
Hyatt members: Don't forget about the Hyatt-MGM partnership.
