  • regarding 'targeted' promotions:

just spoke with GS, they mentioned that unless you permit 'Messages from Apple' at https://appleid.apple.com you cannot be targeted for promotions such as these. they confirmed that I missed out on this promotion for that reason.

  • I just found that If you open the apple-card webpage using incognito mode, you may see the 3% cashback offer without being targeted.

  • For anyone who doesn't know, US Bank Altitude Reserve card also has 3% cashback for all mobile pay payments (Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay etc). This is a permanent feature and it can actually be 4.5% cashback if you redeem from their portal.

    • In my opinion the us bank altitude rewards card is the best all around cash back card out there. I used it for everything without a bonus category. And earn 4.5% back on everything by booking a flight using real time rewards then canceling the flight right away. Works like a charm

    • You don’t need to redeem through their portal. You can use Real Time Rewards which is a far superior method.

  • Also customers save 6% on Apple products when paying in full with a new Apple Card through March 31.

    • Yes. The 3% cashback offer also includes 6% cashback on Apple products when you pay in full with a new Apple Card through March 31.

    • If they make 3% back on Apple Pay a permanent feature, then absolutely. Otherwise, it's just a glorified Apple store card in essence. It's a 2% cash back card that makes you use Apple Pay to get it with a few select stores that give 3%.

I have it but only use it for actual Apple product purchases, and even then there are ways to get a better % back. They do offer 0% financing plus 3% back on Apple products though if that interests you.

I wasn't targeted either, but I don't use it at all other than having it sock drawered and connected to Apple.
