Our Verdict
Keep in mind being an authorized user does count towards your 5/24 status. Most Chase cards come with an authorized user bonus during sign up, although that was recently removed from the Sapphire Preferred card so I wonder if Chase plans to go down this targeted route instead. Alternatively they might just be targeting existing customers who never added an authorized user.

I want to take advantage of targeted offer on my chase Sapphire card. $25 credit for adding AU and spending $100. Can I add a dummy AU and still get the credit?
It says they may shut down the account for false info. How strictly chase validates the AU?
How long does it take to be paid for this bonus? I got it on the same card (CFU) as the $15/100 offer for different categories, including insurance. I made a qualifying purchase and got that $15 immediately, but I'm still waiting for this one. Trying to figure out if I need to make another purchase or if this one just takes longer to be credited.
Update -- got paid two weeks after the charge.
Do you know what cards are included in these targeted offers? I'm guessing Chase Sapphire Reserve isn't sending out any bonus AU offers.
I feel stupid to ask this but I did get this email, I didn't read it carefully enough and deleted it. I can't see this offer in my account online. Will Chase Customer Service know what my offer actually was? Can I still take advantage of it despite that I deleted this email or was I supposed to click something to 'accept' this offer? Thanks much guys :)
Call the number on the back of your card. They might help you, but verify the incentive amount first. IMO, the 5/24 should have more value for your p2.
Thanks much.
check your email's trash
Does adding an AU to a CSP prevent that AU from ever holding their own with the 1 sapphire rule?
Got the email for my Freedom, but no bonus mentioned.
They consider authorized user accounts in their calculation for the 5/24 rule as you mention... hmm.. wonder if they are just trying to further keep more people from getting new account bonuses.
The automated system treats AU cards as 5/24, but a recon call will get them to subtract those out. They can see the difference, but the initial evaluation system doesn't bother to check.
Also, AU cards from most issuers (including Chase) show up on your credit report with the original opening date, so if you're worried about 5/24 issues, just don't do AU on cards that haven't been open for at least 2 years.
The bonus sure has gone down. I got at least $50 before for adding an authorized user.
I got an email without any incentive.
Same here for my Freedom card. Guess because I didn't put much spending on it.
I got a $10 targeted offer, not $20.
Thanks, let me update
