[Expired] [Targeted] Citi Sears: Spending Offers For 2024

The Offer

  • Citi has sent out targeted spending bonuses on the Citi Sears card. This time the offers seem to cover all of 2024
    • Earn 7,500 points per month when you spend $750 – $1,499.99 on total eligible purchases
    • Earn 15,000 points per month when you spend $1,500+

Our Verdict

Specific offer I saw was capped at 180,000 points (15k points per month). Incredible offer, especially if you get additional offers throughout the year that stack with it. This is why this is our #1 store card.

  • I received another mailer that's 5% back in travel/entertainment. Not that great. Usually I get 10% back offers by email. I'm wondering if I should even activate this as it might prevent me from getting the future targeted emails.

    • I have no hard evidence but it seems to me that activating and then not completing is actually better for getting better offers because it shows your interested in that category but maybe need more incentive to complete it.

  • Received the mailer for the $100/$200 GGR deals. Interestingly, though, P2 who only had $10/$20 off $100/$200 for GGR in 2024, hasn't received anything, physically or electronically for 2025 deals. P2 also never received any of the lucrative $200+ online deals as well despite regularly using the card.

  • Got a mailer today with an offer of 100/200 off 1k/2k GGR for the whole year 2025. Nice present from SYW, not as good as last year but still nice. If only I paid more attention and signed up for this card ages ago. Then again, it does start to feel like a chore)

      • Nope, my 2nd year only. I think maybe they mail them in batches. I only got one physical mailer with an offer that was not duplicated via email, and that was when they somehow decided to replace my card for an unknown reason. Most other offers come via email, especially the online spending offer.

      • Are you asking if they *only* come for long-time card holders? If yes, then nope you can get them within a few months (typically 4-6) of getting the card (faster if you put some basic spending on the card in those first months).

        • I’ve gotten the emailed ones and even a GGR one for a couple months. But I’ve never gotten a physical mail offer, that’s why I was asking. Thanks and happy holiday.

          • Interestingly enough, my Informed Delivery has a letter from SYW. I've been using it heavily the last few months with the GGR 3-month offer. Fingers crossed. :)

          • Got one today as well, just got the card this year. 50/100 statement credit per month for 500/1k GGR spend. Not bad. Not as good as some of you but not bad.

          • Wow! Just checked my informed delivery and it showed a SYW letter and I just checked the mail and yep same exact offer for 2025. I was hoping for the elevated $150/250 offer but happy to still have 10%+ all year!

          • It's actually 10% + 1%. And if you have the Rewards+ card, it is another 1.1% more for first 100k TYP redeemed per year. So basically 12.1%. Use the TYP earned with bonus offers for transferring to travel partners and this is the best credit card ever.

          • Yeah I wrote 10+% because the first $10k of the year it’s 10+3 for groceries and dining and 10+5 for gas, then 10+1 for everything after that. I don’t have the Rewards+ card and it’s no longer available, that’s nice that you have it and get the boost!

  • Has anyone else seen in-store Target no longer count as Groceries?

I spent $2500 in eligible spending for GGR in Aug but I just realized my credit that came through in Sept is only for $100, not $200. The $2500 spend includes $605 spent in-store at Target so it’s the only thing that would explain not getting the $200 if that no longer counts. If that’s the case it’s a huge bummer as that plus Walmart counting as groceries was an awesome perk!

      • Thanks for that DP!

I also should’ve said that I normally check if target counts by seeing if I got three times points on ShopYourWay, but I hit my 10K cap in June, so everything’s 1% for the rest of the year for me.

          • MERCHANT CATEGORY:
            Merchandise-GROCERY STORE,SUPERMARKET

But that’s how it’s always coded before too.

          • This is strange, because then it should've counted. Have you tried complaining, I mean it's 100 bucks, might be worth a call ?

  • Redeemed the offer of $100 credit for $1K in Travel spend last week. This also stacked with the offer of 250,000 points for online spend. Nice.

Additionally, this quarter I also received offers of:

    ·       $100/$200 statement credit on $1K/$2K of spend on GGR.
    ·       $50 credit on 5 purchases of $60 or more
    ·       5% back on utility expenses of $400 to $800

It’s unreal how lucrative this card continues to be.  I am going to be extremely disheartened when this party ends.

  • Saw a new offer when i checked the offers tab in my account

"Earn up to $250 back in a statement credit each month until 12/31/2024 when you spend on eligible gas station, grocery store and restaurant purchases:

Earn a $150 statement credit when you spend $1000 - $1999.99 on eligible purchases each month.
    OR
Earn a $250 statement credit when you spend $2000 or more on eligible purchases each month."

    • It seems that people who got the card mid year are receiving this increased offer.

  • $200 statement credit for $2000 GGR spend in April posted today 5/17 and was backdated for 4/17.
