The Offer
Check your emails for the following targeted offer on the Discover card:
- Get 6% cashback on Paypal through May 31st on up to $1,000 in purchases.
- No need to activate this offer—link your card so you’re ready to earn.
Our Verdict
It’s 6% on top of the regular 1% cashback for a total 7% back. Easy win. If you manage to somehow stack it with the Discover 5% categories (Grocery, Drugstore, Streaming) it should end up 11% back, I think.

Where can I see the cashback amount to verify if my purchases are eligible? ( I am targeted)
Are these two offers stackable at BJ's Warehouse?
Discover Q 2 - 5% CB: Wholesale Clubs
PayPal Discover Offer: Targeted via email
Get 6% Back At PayPal On Up To $1,000 In Purchases March, April & May.

i didnt get the promo. only add an authorized user and get 25$ promo they emailing multiple times
I wonder if it's possible to trigger the PayPal from a payment to someone, although I suppose that would incur a fee and offset the deal.
to double dip with grocery 5%, can we not link paypal to samsung pay or google pay and then pay with that at grocery store?
No email for me :( :( This will easy to do, spend that on utilities/insurance/bills through PP Bill Pay.
Have not received this email sadly...
Unfortunately, I have not been targeted for this. This would be really nice though!
Any ideas on how to stack this with the Grocery Q1 or Wholesale Clubs Q2 5% back?
I've found that a lot of online stores selling health and natural foods, specialty foods, vitamins and supplements, herbs, tea, etc. count as grocery stores per a broad definition used by Discover and other cards. Many of those stores also accept PayPal. I've definitely stacked Grocery + PayPal categories with them before. Vitacost is one example.
They often use the MCC for MISC FOOD STORES-SPECIALTY,CONVENIENCE,MARKET on Visa and MasterCard. This is a grocery category for any card that uses a broad definition. Of course Discover could categorize and treat these differently than Visa or MC, but I've yet to find that to be the case.
Of course YMMV depending on the store and card used.
Cannot be combined, "PP*" will be they key identifying the offer here. Also, I had bad luck with Discover and Groceries, some did not code properly unlike Amex Blue, i.e. Walmart Express.
I'm surprised to hear that! Were you using the Discover card at a merchant that you already knew to count as grocery with Discover (when paid without PayPal)?
