Our Verdict
Normally, you have to first earn 300 stars ($150 of spend each year) before being eligible for Gold benefits, such as getting a free drink/item with 125 stars ($62.50 in spend). With this offer, a single purchase gets you Gold and allows you to begin earning free items.
Useful for those who want Gold and don’t have it. They offered the same thing earlier in the year as well. You can also get Gold status by applying for the Chase Starbucks credit card or the Chase Starbucks prepaid card.

FYI, you can split a single purchase among cards registered to different accounts, and they'll all receive Gold status. Did this for my wife and daughter's accounts today.

Which are participating starbucks?
it's usually all of them apart from airport locations and a few other non participating places.
I personally hate Starbucks..
If you are a regular Starbucks customer, it's an awesome rewards program. This benefit is probably worth a mattress, errrr, espresso run...
I'll say no more in fear of them making negative changes to the program.............
For starbucks, I prefer to think of MR not to mean mileage/mattress run, but mocha run 🤣🤣🤣
