Our Verdict

I’m actually not sure if U.S. Bank reports non spousal authorized users to credit bureaus or not. That’s really only important for people still worrying about their 5/24 status. Offer is great for everybody else as there is no minimum spend requirement, just have to add an authorized user and that’s it.

  • Is there generally any harm in adding an AU to get the bonus, and then removing them after? I.e., if my potential AU would be over 5/24 for the next six months, can I add them, get the bonus, and remove them?

  • Would adding a spouse as an authorized user really mean the card won't show up on their credit report?

    How would they know? Would the SSN tell them this info?

        I was confused because that seems to imply that spouses wouldn't be reported.
