Another round of 15% back on grocery up to $20 and 15% at department stores up to $25 for P1 / P2
Anyone know what qualifies as a "department store" for US bank?
Wife can easily either spend the money, or preferably I can just get gift cards. Is Marshalls considered a department store?
Hmm, I didn't get those this round. 😔
The Cash+ card lists the following examples for department stores:
Bloomingdale's
Kohl's®
Off 5th
Bon-Ton®
Loehmann's
Saks Fifth Avenue
Boston Store®
Macy's
Sears®
Dillard's
Nordstrom
Soma Intimates
JcPenney®
Nordstrom Rack
Von Maur®
Interestingly, eBay also codes as a department store. Otherwise any merchant using MCC code 5311 should count.
Now they are showing for me! @guest_1925336 Strange that they appeared in your deals before mine...
Nice! I love these offers. I can get extra uncapped 5% on department stores via P2's Cash+ card.
Just need to find out which of those stores sells GC's.
Looking back at a 2022 statement, Marshalls did not qualify as a department store.
Edit. Looking at a 2022 statement where I spent money at ebay and ikea while having furniture / department stores selected, it appears ebay did count as 5% base on the math.
Using this as pref payment on cash app boost should stack fine I'd imagine. If anyone knows to the contrary please speak up.
using the debit card directly linked to the checking account?
i got it. Nice.
Nowhere to be seen on their website as noted by others...have a business card with them too in addition to the smartly checking. Not bother with the app..

Point #11 on their page:
"Cardmembers who have both a personal credit card account and a business credit or charge card account with U.S. Bank are not eligible for these offers"
You need a consumer card with them (if you have both it also won't work). You also have to be in one of the four tiers they offer either by having at least $20,000 with them, be a senior (over 65) or military (veteran or active duty). There are other groups that make you eligible as shown here towards the bottom of the page:

Assuming these would show in the "Cashback offers" with the other cardlytics offers? Not showing on my account sadly :(
Can someone share how to find these offers in the website, i have smartly checking for few months but not able to find these ones. all i can see is cash back deals which mainly for credit cards it seems. Thanks in advance
You must be in the Primary Tier minimum ($20K assets) to receive these Smart Rewards offers.
Exactly, you need a qualifying US Bank consumer credit card along with the smartly checking to get these cash back deals showing.
I do have US bank altitutde reserve card with them. Are these same as Cashback deals ?
I would think so, the terms state:
Exclusive Smart Rewards cash back deals are available to U.S. Bank personal credit cardmembers whose accounts are open and in good standing.
These offers are probably only for people who have $20,000 at US Bank, or someone in a previous post said they qualified by being military or something.
Just opened one for the bonus. Where are these located on the site?
@2 The cash-back maximum for these deals aren't per month, they're for the duration of the offer. They generally only work for one purchase, but interestingly the dining is described as cash back on "all qualifying purchases."
The previous gas offer also allowed you to use it multiple times until you hit the cash back maximum. I was traveling outside of the US for most of July and August and didn’t need gas in my car at home, so I was only able to use it twice but got credits for both purchases.
The one-time offers can be annoying, because there’s no way to control which purchase the offer applies to, and there’s no way to temporarily remove the offer once you tap/click it to read the details. I added the 20% drugstore offer last month and was scrambling to buy a small toiletry item after reaching my destination. I had forgotten that I had added the offer, and that small purchase used up my 20% offer even though it was at a drug store in Asia!
It’s a good thing that the current dining offer should work for multiple purchases, because I got a credit for a small fast food purchase I had made earlier in the day before I even added the offer later that day. Luckily that didn’t happen for the one-time grocery offer. I was careful not to waste that one and used my Altitude Reserve to buy a $133.33 gift card at the grocery store to max out the $20 cash back and will make sure I don’t use same card for any smaller grocery purchases for 24-48 hours.
Updated, thanks
