The Fine Print

  • A qualifying client-initiated transaction may include deposits, checks paid, ACH items, and signature and PIN-based purchases made with a First Horizon Debit Card.
  • The cash bonus will be deposited into your account within 10 business days after qualifying activities are met. Bonus will only be paid to open accounts with a positive balance.
  • Offer is only available to the addressee of the offer, is non-transferable, may not be combined with other offers, and is only available for new clients that have not had an account at First Horizon within the last 12 months.

Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

FirstView checking account has no monthly fees to worry about. You do need to opt in to paperless statements otherwise you’ll be charged a $2 monthly fee.

Early Account Termination Fee

Account must be kept open for six months otherwise the bonus will be forfeit This account no longer has any ETF.

Our Verdict

Better than the $400 checking bonus. Definitely worth doing if they will send you an e-mail with the promo code, I guess there is some risk involved though if you weren’t targeted with a mailer.

Useful posts regarding bank bonuses:

Post history:

  • Update 4/4/24: Deal is back until April 30, 2024.
  • Note: Terms state ‘Offer is only available to the addressee of the offer, is non-transferable, may not be combined with other offers’. But this shows up in a google search and you also have to request a code by filling in your information so should be able to get this bonus even if not targeted but YMMV.

  • P1 successful
    P2 was not successful

Opened at the same time. Went to bank, talked with them, they left saying give it time. Here we are 4 months later and nothing.

With others comments I think its safe to say this is one per address

    • P1 and P2 both received the bonus. Same last name, same address.

This was technically under the original bonus for 5K hold, where there was no explicitly stated household limit.

Unless there was an explicit household limitation listed in the terms of the DD bonus, I'd imagine it would be similar.

  • I'm back. I'm wanting to pull out max. Anyone know min. to hold and when safe to close account ?

    Opened Aug. 21
    Real DD Started Sept.13 @ 250
    Bonus posted NOV. 22 450.
    Turned off DD.

    • You are safe to close anytime you want. There is no fee or clawback terms. @guest_1975212

      • Does it matter that those were the terms when you opened the account? I opened in July, so I would have to wait until mid January to close the account. At the time I opened, there was the 6 month language.
