Topcashback: Get Cashback From Shopping Of Friends Who Don’t Use Portals

Topcashback offers the ability to send your friend a link to a merchant which will track their shopping cash back to your portal account. It’s gives anyone the ability to have their own ‘affiliate link’ of sorts and to get paid for someone else’s shopping. I’d recommend making it clear to your friend that you’ll be gaining from this, and that they can make their own to portal account, if they choose, for their own gain. (Portals offer nice refer-a-friend bonuses, so you can stand to gain that way too. 🙂 )

This feature can be highly useful for someone helping their friend make a large purchase, when the buyer won’t be using a shopping portal anyway. Simply generate a deep link which will take them directly to the retailer, they’ll shop as normal, and the cashback will be deposited into your portal account.

Direct Link

I’m not sure if this is new or it’s always been there, but I don’t recall bumping into this feature before in any of the major shopping portals.

  • Looks like they removed this feature, not sure when it was removed. The page now says: "Create a link to a TopCashback retailer you can send to friends, family, and other people you know to invite them to TopCashback. If the user signs up to TopCashback you will become eligible for a referral bonus."

  • What's with all the whiny comments here. I've never had an issue with TCB and their customer service has always been fast to reply. Nobody beats their rates. This is a pretty neat way to earn CB when you want to post a deal on forums.

  • TCB is the best portal due to its unbeatable rates. The only caveat is it doesn't track. If you submit tickets, your account may be shut down.

  • Should add it to the "Top 10 ways to loose a friend list" for 0.55c cashback that wont track.
Something are better not monetized like Doc does not shill credit cards and now i am his friend if they ever need my help.

  • Did you join Amway, but still have a couple friends left? Save money on Christmas cards this year by using this simple link!

  • Just force your soon-to-be-former-friend to pay you in cash and you'll do the shopping for them. That way you get CB from your portal of choice, CC points, and one fewer friend to have to send holiday cards to.

  • What's the point if TCB won't even track for you, let alone your referrals? This is a lose-lose scenario for everyone.

  • Just a reminder, in case anyone forgot about last year’s HBO Max f*ckery, that TCB should be renamed PITA. Stay away from this “cash back” portal. I was a new sign up, clicked the affiliate link Doc posted, brand new HBO subscriber, used the same email address for both TCB and HBO, the purchase tracked, I had to submit a ticket anyway and follow up several times, etc. That is all to say I jumped through every hoop they made me jump and it still took MONTHS for them to pay up. But only the cash back from the deal, I never got the $30 from the DoC affiliate. Which sucks because I know that means DoC din’t benefit from my sign up. I haven’t used them since!

    • You do know that re the HBO deal TCB was actually the good guys here, right? HBO refused to honor the original terms they agreed to with TCB ( HBO clearly didn’t think that one thru) but TCB paid out regardless to people including myself. Look…I get the constant complaints about TCB’s tracking issues (though YMMV as I haven’t had any issues unlike BeFrugal where nothing ever tracked for me) but please give credit to TCB when credit is due like for the HBO deal.

      • BeFrugal stinks.
I signed up and made one or two purchases and gave up.
        It wasn't worth it.
TCB, MyPoints, and Swagbucks all have some tracking problems.
        I still use them.

  • I could see this being useful for, say, an older relative who rarely buys things online, but you're helping / guiding them in a one-time online purchase of something large enough to make it worth while.
