Update 11/4/20: Gold Eagle is now confirmed at $2,600 price. This will sell out extremely quickly. Goodluck to all!
This Thursday (November 5, 12PM ET) the US Mint will be launching two new limited “End of World War II 75th Anniversary coins. They are as follows:
- American Gold Eagle ($2,600 price)
- American Silver Eagle ($83 price)
There is also a $4.95 shipping charge. Some coin resellers are offering to purchase these coins for the final price with an additional bonus. I always recommend to lock in a price with somebody trustworthy before the coin goes on sale as that way you don’t carry any risk if the coin drops in value and then remember to honor your side of that deal if the coin goes up in value. It seems that the gold eagle will be difficult to purchase due to large demand and a low mintage (1,945 mintage vs 75,000 on the silver). Read our previous coin coverage here and discuss this deal in the comments below. Remember that American Express will consider precious metal coins as a cash advance starting January 15, 2021.

End of World War II 75th Anniversary 24-Karat Gold Coin Back in stock at the mint this morning
Out of stock, but the price says $1,310 now instead of $2,600. Very weird.
Sorry, this isn’t the American Eagle mentioned in this post, this one came a week or two afterwards. I didn’t buy because ebay prices weren’t that high.

This one doesn't have the V75 privy mark
https://catalog.usmint.gov/end-of-world-war-ii-75th-anniversary-american-eagle-gold-proof-coin-20XE.html is the one that deal was about
Did you get one?
Letting GreatCollections auction my coins was a horrible idea -- takes an eternity. They'll be worth way less than what the wholesalers were buying them for by the time they're even put up for auction.
Pinehurst still keeps mailing my check for the silver coin to some undeliverable address. I verified the address, they mailed it twice already, last time with a tracking number, it made all the way to my street but then was marked as No Such Number. Which means probably that Pinehurst is somehow screwing up my address. Im so upset. This is really my first and last time dealing with Pinehurst. And no, its not USPSs fault.
These clowns, after mailing the check twice to an undeliverable address, offered me to do wire for $50 instead of doing Paypal for free. I guess Im either never going to see my money or I have to pay $50.
PFS offering $23 commission for purchasing 2 of the United States Mint Limited Edition 2020 Silver Proof Sets.
The cost of each set is $201.00. After including the $4.95 shipping charge, each Order of two sets will total $406.95.
They will pay you $430.00 for the sets - for a profit of $23.05 per order.
Minshull said they are NOT purchasing these at this time.
The 12/10 deal must have been a small buyer - a $23 profit deal sold out in less than an hour. Either that, or everyone is into coin reselling now after the V75 eagles...
I was only going to get in on it in order to pay via PPK and reap 5% on my Chase Freedom. Next time.
Great way to MS.
That deal went to "fully subscribed" within minutes, while I was doing my research and deciding if I wanted to do it.
PFS opt in is full as of now
PFS sent an email today regarding the United States Mint Limited Edition 2020 Silver Proof Set to be released tomorrow, 12/10. Anyone contact Pinehurst or Minshull regarding offers for this set?
Minshull said they are NOT buying as of now
Minshull confirmed they are not interested.
Just when I thought we'd have to wait until next year... $23 in profitz can be ours
Pinehurst contacted me today to confirm my address as the check for my silver coin returned as undeliverable. The address is correct, Im assuming they never mailed the check. I live in a rural town and USPS is good here, had no complains over many years. The coin was delivered to Pinehurst on the 19th. It was my first and will be my last time dealing with Pinehurst.
TBH I’d trust Pinehurst over the USPS 100 times out of 100. They sent my check within a week.
They were usually pretty reliable in my experience.
You can also email about the status of your check.
I emailed them a while ago, they said the check was mailed on the 23rd. I was waiting and waiting then yesterday I got this email to verify my address, which was correct the first time. We literally have like 10 streets here, mine is the 5th one....:D. Yesterday Pinehurst reshipped the check with a tracking number....Good to know that they are reliable.
Coins delivered to Minshull 11/30 (2 day shipping that actually took 14 days...). Check arrived today, per USPS informed delivery.
Now I need to forget about this whole thing so as not to periodically check ebay for current prices.
Agree on both accounts. USPS was absolutely terrible. Shipped silver priority express (guaranteed next day) arrived 6 days later. USPS registered mail for gold estimated 1-3 days ended up 12 days later. These were shipped Thursday before Thanksgiving.
BoA CR only gave 1% for both US mint transactions this time.
Anyone else has DPs? Good to know for the future
check received 12/2 for the silver coin from minshull
