Worth doing as it’s a soft pull and a small amount of credit card funding as well. As always if you have any experiences with this bank or bonus then please share them in the comments.

Thoughts on buying costco giftcard for the 1500 spend? It would count as purchase?
Use the PayPal route. Lots of DPs here
it only allows me to use routing and account number, can't add using debit card #
I explored that option but it won't let me as it is business
Successfully opened yesterday and tried to fund $500 with Citi DC card, but received an email a few hours later that the funding didn't go through. Not sure if they've shut down that funding option or if there was some kind of problem with mine. I transferred $25 from another account just because the offer terms said $25 minimum funding is required
10/03/24: 1502 real DD in
10/18/24: 1510 PayPal debit
10/25/24: $400??? Bonus - "Free Ckg Incentive Pmt"
Extra $100? Not sure what happened... I'll take it lol.
Someone on Reddit said that there's an extra $100 bonus that's automatically applied for people in the Dallas TX area (and possibly San Antonio too.) Are you in either of those areas?
Any recent 2nd time churner for this? Last closed in July 2023 for me, and I don't think recent term allowed for 2nd time churning anyway.
"Existing customers are eligible for the promotional incentive if they currently, or within the previous 12 months, are not a primary signer on a personal Checking account with Broadway Bank."
From terms, looks churnable after 12 months
They is also a "Excludes closed and reopened Free Checking accounts". The closed checking account might be a problem there. As I recall, the last time it was also called the Free Checking account.
True. Maybe in the future they'll open the bonus up to more account types.
Which credit bureau do they soft-pull? They suggest unfreezing TU, but even when I do that, they still tell me my report is frozen.
You have to fully remove the freeze, apply, and then readd your freeze. Temporary lifts aren't enough. I ran into the same issue while opening and had to wait for a 30 day cooldown before applying again
Successful opening DP with LOL Chex and TU.
Got denied a few months back citing TU. Applied with TU frozen yesterday and the application prompted to "Unfreeze and apply again".
I called in, the banker filled out the entire application for me and I was able to open the account.
Update:
10/01: 1505 transfer from Wise with "Payroll" reference
10/02: Loaded PayPal with debit card for 1501
10/03: $300 bonus posted.
Love their speed. Thank y'all for this one.
@guest_1914709
Did you unfreeze TU the second time around when applying with a banker?
I don't see any soft pulls on Transunion despite getting denied.
Yes, I unfroze both Chex and TU. Don't see any inquiry on either. I don't think they care about LOL if the banker is putting in the application for you.
Successful DP here (TX resident)
7/8/24: Account opened online, $25+ initial deposit
7/19 & 7/24: $1500+ transfer from schwab brokerage account
7/22 & 7/24: $1501 added to paypal wallet and debited to another bank from paypal same day
8/15: No bonus yet
8/30: $1501 real DD from work
8/31: $300 bonus credit with comment “Free Ckg Incentive Pmt Q223”
Note – Brokerage transfer didn’t work, real DD worked, load to paypal wallet works, need to spend on debit card directly
I was in the branch and got refused to open due to non-TX resident.
Like others have reported, received bonus 2 days after meeting requirements. Used real DD for deposit and PayPal for debit spend. Has Zelle and seems like a decent bank so I'll keep 'em around for a while.
