Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

Easy Checking

This account has a $6.95 monthly fee and is waived if you meet any of the following requiremnets:

  • Combined monthly direct deposits totaling $1000+ – or –
  • Average account balance of $1,500.- or
  • Account holder(s) age 65 or greater.

Gold Checking

This account has a $14.95 monthly fee but is waived if you have a U.S. Bank credit card. Many of us have a U.S. Bank personal credit card like Altitude, Flexperks, or Cash+ which would work to keep the account fee-free. Another option is to get the Gold account and get the fee waived if you have a good credit score and join the Because You’ve Earned It program.

Early Account Termination Fee

There is no early account termination fee to worry about

Our Verdict

Basically the same requirements as the $300 checking bonus. This bonus is definitely worth doing if you’re eligible, just remember you can’t have received a U.S. Bank checking bonus in the last 12 months. We will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

  • Hi everyone, new to the Bonus bank world (yeaaaah!!!).
When transferring between 2 different banks (let say Chase to USBank) to hope to get the DD, is it better to push from Chase to USBank (which means: Login to the Chase account, adding the USBank as a new recipient and send to it) or to "retrieve" FROM USBank.

    Thanks!!! <3

    • @guest_1248656 Always push from an external bank account into the bank account you are trying to trigger the bonus for...so yes from Chase to US Bank.

  • Does anyone have the bonus code or screen shot of the savings promotion. Having trouble with bank getting paid.

  • darn i didn't get the bonus yet... followed all the parameters and get the checking but not the savings... they said it will take 60 days after june 21st...

    • Same here, same response. P3 Got the checking bonus paid no issue, but savings was not paid out (P2 paid out just fine though). Emailed in, and response was that it can take up to 60 days. Will wait further I guess. USB tends to pay out on certain dates (so will check near the end of July, then early Aug).

        • They got back to me saying because of the household limit. They sent me the flyer for it confirming that (I don't have a screenshot of the terms on the webpage). Just odd that the checking bonus paid out, but not the savings. But guess I shouldn't complain about it :D

          • OK, CLARIFICATION. Looking through my records again. The checking bonus between P2/P3 were different. P2 and P3 did different Checking bonuses and that's why they paid out just fine. But both did the same Savings bonus and thus here we are.

        • haven't got it. Will be contacting support again soon (CS told me to check back by Aug 20)

  • Same here, $100 bonus posted 7/6, along with just a $300 balance since 6/21. Will be calling in to close this out shortly.

  • $100 posted to account finally yesterday (7/6). Had pulled funds out (down to $300 to keep it fee free) on 6/22, so they stayed true to their terms about keeping the funds in until 6/21.

  • P2 received their $100. P3 did not. Looks like a phone call will be happening
