Last year it was announced that U.S. Bank would be taking over the BMW portfolio of credit cards. The new cards were due to launch in January, but that was pushed back without notice. U.S. Bank has now formally launched the new cards, in total there are four cards:
- BMW World Mastercard®
- BMW Precision World Elite Mastercard®
- MINI World Mastercard®
- BMW Motorrad World Mastercard®
The cards will offer the following features:
- Up to 5x rewards for purchases at BMW, MINI or BMW Motorrad
- Accelerated rewards on gas and restaurants;
- $70 annual dealership credit on the BMW Precision World Elite Mastercard;
- Contactless payment capabilities that require no swiping or dipping, in addition to an EMV chip and magnetic stripe for maximum convenience;
- One-click mobile application process with an instant credit decision for immediate use;
- Ability to use the card to purchase branded merchandise and accessories, parts and service;
- BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad Credit Card mobile apps to redeem rewards and manage their account from anywhere.
The card application pages live here. The only card that was interesting was the precision card due to the $70 dealership credit, but that also has a $99 annual fee.

It makes sense if you use it right -
$15000 down payment = 60,000 points
60k points = 75k points at BMW/Mini dealer
72k points = $900 value (they redeem in fixed amounts 4K, 8k, 20k, 40k, 80k) to use towards service, maintenance, extended warranty, etc
So I’m putting my down payment on the card (and paying it off right away) and then next month redeeming the points for an extended service agreement to take the warranty to 6 years.
$900=6% back and I have some points left over for the next time :)
Wonder if World Elite Mastercard benefits applies to BMW Precision World Elite Mastercard®. I think it does.

It's likely because this is a US Bank issued MC. But you have to read each bank's offer carefully as it's up to the bank, not the card network to offer the benefits and it is often card specific. Example, Citi World Elite MasterCards with annual fees do NOT have the MasterCard mobile phone protection, but US Bank's no annual fee REI and Capital One's no annual fee GM cards do ($800 per device, instead of the standard $600).
This is essentially selling BMW/MINI brand on a credit card unless you can figure out a way to purchase a BWM/MINI with those cards
You could buy all of the genuine parts required to build your own Mini or BMW....in theory. The chassis and VIN might be a hang up though.
Looks like some of the information on these cards can be found here:

Overall seems a bit lackluster unless significant spend on BMW/Mini. Points seem to be worth ~0.01 given the redemption option listed on the page:
Get 25% more value when you redeem points for a BMW Rewards Card. Use it for BMW service, accessories, lease end costs and more. For example, 20,000 points are worth $250 at BMW Centers.
So the Mini and BMW cards are the same with different pictures basically. I wonder if you could get the sign up bonus for both. Are BMW and Mini recognized separately or can they be used interchangeably? That would be a difference.
Why would you want to get one, let alone both?
