TD Bank has announced that the U.S. Aeroplan card will be discontinued. A letter has been sent out to existing cardholders saying that as on February 1st, 2020 that you’ll no longer earn Aeroplan miles. The card is being replaced with a TD First Class Visa Signature card and will earn ‘First Class Miles’. Important dates are as follows:
- Replacement card will be sent out on February 1st, 2020, you can continue to use your existing card until it arrives
- As of February 1st you will earn First Class Miles instead of Aeroplan miles
TD Bank also services the Aeroplan co-branded cards in Canada, but that relationship will not be changing as far as I’m aware. Recently TD Bank also discontinued it’s co-branded card with Ally Bank.

As far as I can see, this card didn't provide any Air Canada specific benefits anyway.
There are transferable points programs that transfer to Aeroplan:

including Amex MR.
It was however a nice way to earn more than half of the miles needed to fly to Europe in J on a Star Alliance partner for a very small spend.
"First Class Miles"???
The site says 25,000 can be exchanged for a $250 credit in a couple of categories, so one cent per point. Not valuable.
Anyone still have a valid link for the US TD Aeroplan card? I've tried looking but no luck so far.
They pulled applications for it months ago. No blog covered it.
What a shame. Thanks though.
