The Fine Print
- Book by May 30 for travel between July 1 and December 12
Our Verdict
Not as good as previous deals that were for 42,000/60,000 miles round trip. Still useful if you’re planning a trip.

looks like it was 1 day only jeez
"valid in economy" only. Yeah, pass. I flew from JFK to MEL earlier this year in biz for 55k and have another booking in Nov from ORD to SYD, stopover in fiji, also for 55k in biz.
which airline?
QF qantas for previous trip, FJ fiji air for next trip to AU. These redemption rates are already deval'd (gone) though since March.
I'd really recommend Tahiti as a destination (take the ferry over to Moorea after you arrive). But, right now, if you're willing to deal with Turkish's painful award booking process and have Citi miles, you can get a coach ticket to Hawaii for less than 7000 points. That said, if you do airbnbs, your cost on the ground will be far less in Tahiti and it is a way better experience for most.
Nice - actually found 1 stop layover flights from MIA/FLL to PPT in November for 30k miles, with a cash cost of 1900.
Papeete is only 30,000 and it's dry season. Good deal.
Auckland NZ is 40,000 too.
"Flights To Australia & Tahiti (For 40k Miles)"
Ummm.
Flying out of which city??
Any city in the U.S.?
I see an 45K miles award flight SAN-PPT for 10/09/2024. But it has two connections - in ORD (!) and SFO. The weirdest itinerary ever.
ORD is my home airport so my 2 stops are Orange County and SFO. Weird.
surprise not ORD to SFO direct for you
UA/LM award itin does this all the time. Award mostly cheaper direct than cash but sometimes it's cheaper with more hell segments. I had an ANA F drop a lot with a married segment than alone. Good thing I wanted the extra leg anyways.
