[Targeted?] Venmo Credit Card $200 Signup Bonus With $1,000 Spend

Update 1/24/23: Deal is back and valid until  6/30/23. Shows in Venmo app if eligible. Hat tip to Mike

Update: Readers note that after logging in the offer doesn’t show for a lot of people so this might be a targeted offer to those who got the email. The offer page does seem to be public, though the terms state, “Offer may only be redeemed by the eligible participant, such eligibility to be determined by Venmo in its sole discretion,” so maybe that means it’s only for those targeted.

Our Verdict

Decent cash bonus offer. We’ll add this to our List of Best Credit Card Signup Bonuses. Previously the card had no public bonus; there were some targeted $100 or $200 signup offers.

  • I was able to get the Chex pull that Paypal did removed by complaining to Chex. So far I've been are to have the most success with removing Chex inquiries when they also do a hard pull.

  • i just got this card (with the targeted offer, glad i waited before applying)- i understand they code sam's club as the grocery category, but does it count as grocery if it's using the sams scan and go (or would that code as an online purchase/"other" for venmo?) i know amex and b of a seem to code scan and go as online purchases even though you're in the store

  • Received the targeted $200 bonus in my Venmo account immediately at the close of the latest statement period 3/5. (Hit the spend req a couple weeks prior).

    • It's been 4 months since my last activity on the card, and I still don't see the $200 bonus. Calling Venmo is a nightmare and they don't seem to know anything. Neither does Synchrony Bank. One says it's the other's responsibility and vice versa. Ideas?

  • This card has an extra 3% cash back until Dec 20th now, up to $20. It needs to be activated for current members, but gives up to 6% back on your top category until the 20th or $20 cash back.

  • What a garbage company, just wasted an hour with this idiots.
I had even confirmed the offer before applying, now these assh*les telling me they dont see any offer.
Should I file a complaint againt Synchrony or Venmo?

  • I needed a new card with a sign up bonus so took a risk. Cant apply for anything that uses Experian and this one uses TransUnion so went with this. Will post what happens

  • I have multiple venmo accounts.

On one account, I got the generic offer with no signup bonus
On the other account, I got the $200 bonus offer. But the thing is, I tried both offers in separate browsers in private mode and none of them show the offer on the landing screen when I click the link from the respective email.

Anyone else who already signed up, can you please tell me what your experience was? thanks

  • Be very leery of this offer. I did it 6 months ago. Provided screenshots and I called so many times and sent emails. Just got canned responses. Never did get the bonus.

    • Same. I met the requirement within weeks. Venmo tells me to contact Synchrony. Synchrony tells me to contact Venmo. It's been 4 months since my last purchase, and that $200 signup bonus is nowhere to be found.

  • I had an offer for $100 sub in the app which lasted a few months but that expired on 12/31/22. Currently nothing in the app and I didn’t get any targeted emails either. I believe the link is highly targeted.
