  • I'm still mad Walgreens bought and killed off Drugstore.com I do use them because with coupons you can save a lot.

  • Walgreens was always great for having a rewards card that you could transmit via NFC with e.g. Apple Pay. Is the new rewards program card similar?

  • Conversion from Balance Rewards to myWalgreens is super easy online in your account. Just click. Also, a digital card automatically populates into your digital wallet, which can be read digitally at checkout. No barcode, but read digitally like Apple Pay. Again, super easy and contactless. I’ve always found Walgreens to have better prices than CVS.

  • Cashiers are required to persuade you through their automation to switch over with them. I advised too many peeps waiting in line to go through the switch in person.

  • The worst part of this transition from balance rewards is apparently there is no longer a barcode you can scan from your phone if you just want to accrue rewards- you have to enter your phone number in the keypad which I would certainly rather not touch right now. The only way to scan something from your phone now is if you use Walgreen’s new QR code in its app to pay.
