Early Account Termination Fee

A $25 early account closing fee applies if the account is closed within 60 days of opening

Our Verdict

Previously this was $200 with the same requirements. Still worth doing and the Kasasa Cash checking account earns 6% APY on up to $25,000. We will add this to our list of best bank account bonuses.

  • @guest_1794465,

Another online bill that had been working for Andrews now shows as “Withdrawal Bill Payment” this month, like Fios does. Andrews is making it harder and harder to qualify for the 6% rate. Have you noticed anything similar?

    • @guest_1791840 Yes. Since August I've used Cash app loads which coded as Withdrawal Debit Card. Except just once in August Cash app load coded as Withdrawal ACH Cash App. So now I periodically review the Cash app coding to catch any stray ACH withdrawals, but there haven't been any so far.

      • Did you miss out on the 6% rate in August because of that 1 hiccup or did you catch it in time?

        • Got the 6%, my first cash app load was the ACH hiccup and being my first I looked and was shocked to see it coded as ACH. My next 45 loads for Aug-Oct coded Withdrawal Debit Card.

          • How insane is it that they consider a Cash App load as a QDP but they don't consider paying Fios or some other bills as a QDP?

  • 5/16 open
    5/30, 6/30, 7/30, 8/30 work DDs $500
    9/23 no bonus, sent SM
9/24 SM replied they reviewed my account and posted the bonus

  • This is the first month after my bonus posted and I did not receive the 6% interest rate. I met the criteria. Did this happen to anyone else?

    • Same with me. All my normal Paypal 1 cents before this month were Recurring Withdrawal Debit Card but this month they were Recurring Withdrawal Bill Payment, so Andrews said I did 0. I'll try again in September with Paypal and hope it will be resolved. OnPath did not have any issue with this method.

      • I think Paypal 1 cent subscriptions are dead for this option. The two transactions in September still have bill payment on them.

    • Did you confirm that all 15 debit purchases showed up as "Withdrawal Debit Card". If any did not, that's probably why you didn't receive the 6% rate.

  • Opened in May w/$25,000 for mainly 6% interest rate
Did an assortment of 15 debit card transactions for $1.00+each month, plus used Wise for DD
    $150 bonus posted today.

  • Hey, can someone check their account and let me know if the monthly interest posted today, or if it doesn't post till tonight's processing? I am not sure if I qualified for my interest for the month because my 15th transaction posted on the 29th which is the cutoff day , so I don't know if that means it had to post *before* the 29th, or *on* the 29th. Thanks, I appreciate it.

      • Thanks, I saved this. That's great that it's the 30th for this month, my last transaction posted the 29th.

      • So I just checked, and my interest didn't post yet. Did everyone get theirs last night, or does it post tonight?

          • Thanks johnz, I was thinking it would post tonight as well, but before I saw your other comment regarding the cycle ending in the 30th this month(meing my 15th transaction posted on the 29th made it in time), i called the branch and asked if this month's interest already posted, because I didn't receive mine yet, she said yes, interest posted today.

So I was really distraught over it, but rather than keep asking questions, I just figured she probably was wrong, and that it should post tonight, but I knew someone on here would know for sure. I appreciate you answering, I feel better now, because there's no reason I shouldn't receive my interest for july.

      • Thanks for confirming, I really appreciate it 🙂👍

I think it's Wise that's counted as DD.

Thanks DoC and all helpful DPs here!

  • Transferred from Fidelity per the DPs but saying it was not qualifying DD and are denying the SUB.

    • Unfortunately you're not a qualifying churner because you call the bank. Don't call the bank @guest_1861611

        • If you're using a fake DD, how could you fight with them? Churner never call the bank.

          • @guest_1885350,

You might be surprised to learn that a lot of churners "call the bank". @guest_1843404 is a good example of someone that does it all of the time.

          • Well, this promotion has clearly defined what qualifying direct deposits are and what do not count. If it were me, I would just give Andrews the maximum allowed time for payout per the terms (maybe plus one to three more weeks) to see if the bonus posts automatically. Meanwhile I would read others' DPs in this post to see which fake DD works and which does not, as this shall help me decide whether I should wait a bit longer or not. Actually there are already DPs that Fidelity does not work for triggering the bonus. If I do not get paid, I would just take the loss and move on.
The whole point of the "PSA: Don’t Call The Bank" post is to make every bank promotion and the churning game sustain longer for the community.

  • Is this churnable? If so, How often? I see 6 months but not so clear in the terms. Thanks in advance.

    • This was in the terms for the promotion that has already ended: Previous memberships that were closed within 180 days prior to promo are not eligible for this offer.
